Is America safe for foreigners in 2025?!

Video Overview & Insights

If you watch the news, maybe it will advise foreign tourists to not visit the USA at this time but I decided to go anyway and this is what I think from my experience and my opinion! Enjoy!

You don't watch the news and you seem proud of it. Do you read newspapers? How do you know anything about anything?

I live in Virginia and love visiting NYC and most anywhere else. Of course, one has to be aware of his/her surroundings, but that's just common sense. Travel is good for the soul, and I love your attitude. I must say that I think we have a great country, and no matter what is in vogue, we will survive. Life is good.

Great video, Ben!
I agree with you-as a tourist, you are safe to visit the States! The local economy loves it when tourists spend money and we want visitors to come to our country to learn about our culture and history.
However, as Americans, many of us do not feel secure in our own country. Job insecurities, medical rights being taken away, financial hardships….it’s very stressful for many Americans and the opinions of it all is dividing our country 😢. That is what is going on here, but that is a discussion for a different kind of channel.
Glad you’re having fun. Are you planning on visiting other states?

Me and my family were last in the US in April this year, we went to NY, Vegas and San Fran and we felt safe thru the whole trip, i rather learn from my experiences than what others or the media portray, im from the UK and i swear we have Trump on our news more than i saw on american news

America isn't safe for Americans right now. As an American I'm telling you, for your own safety: don't come here. And if you must, avoid the south and interior of the country like your life depends on it, because it literally could.

Hi, Ben! I'm Bernice from Murray KY! Kentucky is so laid back and beautiful, I hope you will have a chance to visit! It is not as lively as NY...but if you want to chill down, Kentucky is it!! Look it up....Check it out! Take care, safe travels!👍🏽

I love your attitude! You don’t let being alone prevent you from cruising. Nor will you allow other people’s opinions prevent you from visiting a great place like New York City! Carry on and continue the videos. I love ‘em!

Hello from Chicago! Hi Ben! Loved seeing Times Square at night! For a Monday that place was packed lol!!!!

I will not go to the US ever again. I used to love it and have visited (I am an Icelander living in Denmark). Now I hate the US from the very bottom of my heart. Why? Because Trump has threatened to take Greenland, even not ruling out using military power. Plus the tariffs he put on us.
I don´t see any protests from ANY Americans, so I interpret that as you are fine with stealing land from an ally plus destroying our economy.
Get lost, US!!! Your racism is appalling too!

Doesn’t matter if you’re in the US or anywhere else — I’m totally hooked on your travel vlogs! Living through your adventures like I’m right there with you 😄🌍✈️

Welcome Ben!! This is the land of the FREE AND HOME of the BRAVE !!!! Lots of AI generated news, much not true about us or other countries but 🤷‍♀️ I choose not to stay home because of it, scammers everywhere, but like you I avoid those things and have a good vacation.😎. Happy travels 😍

We have Lidl maybe 15 minutes away, never go there.
Wanted to cruise out of Manhatten, we did out of Brooklyn. MSC is leaving NY in 2026 or 2027 i saw.

As an American who has been to all 50 states I can say that NYC is among my least favorite places in the US. There's plenty of iconic places to visit for sure, but it comes with jostling crowds, pervasive noise, annoying hucksters and the like. I much prefer London over NYC, but I prefer the countryside to both. You certainly captured what NYC is like--well done.

@mflewis1

We are not even safe, and it is our fault.

You did a good job being apolitical….but there was one thing I found difficult to understand……why are you wearing long sleeves? Isn’t it still August in New York?!😀😀

You can ignore politics if you want but you’re in denial about why people are choosing elsewhere.

@Chris_Carini

Ben, you don't look like a foreigner in the US. Of course, keep your valuables with you when you are out in New York. It is great to see so many people in Times Square now, maybe it's always this busy.

@kanfit
@

As a Canadian, many dont go to the US simply they don't like the US president and his spat with Canada and not because they are affraid of coming to the US although a small percentage might. Most I know are just boycotting the US.

Im with you on this one Ben. If because of the boycott this makes US travel cheap, you bet I'd buy my flight tickets and go there. I love traveling to places if I can find bargains. I put politics aside just like you.

@filb
@

The reason Canadian are not going is due to the comments of the 51st State and the Tariffs. And Canadians make up a huge part of the tourists in the USA.

I am an immigrant and queer. Double whammy nowadays. However, just like you, I have a light skin complexion, which does help at this point. I am a "known traveler" and havr a clean record, which also helps. Some of the people who were denied entry simply did not tell the truth to customs officers, but that was not always mentioned in the media. However, racism is real! And a lot of tourists simply don't want to support this regime with their taxes, which is one reason why they are canceling trips. I am glad that you enjoyed your vacation!

I felt safe in 2001 ,few months after 9/11 .. As an employee of U.S Airways ( now American Airlines). I also felt safe in Rome Italy with my cousins. Truth be told, I used to travel alone to many cities. These days, I'm a bit hesitant to travel ALONE ,with that I'm traveling with you Ben, vicariously through your eyes.. God bless💙

Good morning, Ben ! Thanks for bringing us to night New York ! I was in New York crowds many times and many years ago. Somehow I feel this is a different crowds, an oriental kind of crowds who saunter aimlessly and seem to have the whole night. More relaxed; in less hurry ! They key to safety is never to walk too far away from the crowds ! Be happy in New York. It is fun !

@david1234lee
@

Thank you, Ben, for your candid comments. You have shown some beautiful areas of N.Y. You are a great traveler who is aware of the surroundings you are around to have a safe trip .

@JeanineWoolet
@

I don’t think NYC is any more dangerous than any other place. The only thing you have to watch out for is people who take advantage of crowds, like pickpockets and purse snatchers. That happens everywhere. Situational awareness is key, and some people just don’t have it— you do. The issues are no different than in any other big city in the world. Participating in protests is a good way to get your visa/status revoked and possibly banned from coming back, so I am glad you avoided that by choice. I didn’t even know we had a Lidl in the US! Would be cool to get a Tesco too😂

@audge74
@

Ben, I'll try to watch each video twice, to negate that Debbie Downer who won't watch videos shot in America 🙂

@huetermSTL
@

Ben, you seem to know how to take care of yourself and are aware of your surroundings. NYC is the largest city in the US; I live near LA which is probably a close second. They both have the same problems most large cities have (homelessness, crime, mental health issues, etc.) but on a larger scale. It’s not so bad in most places; it usually is just a matter of avoiding the worst areas. Looking forward to your next video!

@wendyadams8531
@

I felt safe in New York when I was there, Bryant Park is beautiful at Christmas also. No more Times Square please 😂, can you go to the top of something, perhaps a rooftop bar, thanks Ben

@daisycharles440

Then the truth is, you don't feel any different than you did three years ago, because three years ago, you were white, and now you're white... But for anyone who's non white coming in here tourist, or even just someone who's been living here and working here, who's not white, does have a big difference in the way they feel from three years ago. i'm glad you're able to travel around and have that advantage of not having to worry about it, not because of the political part anyway. But I still tell you, to be careful, just because there is so much that goes on everywhere. where there are crowds!

@brendalogan6281
@

Thank you for this video, Ben. I appreciate your perspective. Every time I travel, people try to talk me out of going and tell me to be really careful and ask why I want to risk my life. I don't know about the UK, but in the USA, the media does an astounding job of sensationalizing everything. There is some truth to what they report, but they blow it out of proportion. Most of the unrest here is politically driven. NYC is about the same (a bit more violence) as your last visits. It doesn't even rank in the top 10 most dangerous cities in the United States. As far as the USA as a whole, yes, our gun violence is higher than pretty much every country in Europe and Asia. There are 25 countries with higher rates of gun violence. Many of those MUCH higher, including Mexico. Anyway, yes, we are at risk when we travel. We are also at risk crossing the street in our hometowns. We need to be smart and be aware, and I think you set a great example of that, Ben! Thank you! I know a guy in the Bronx who can hook you up with a weapon for safety. 😂 Okay, a bunch of people are going to hate me for that little joke. Safe travels, Ben!

@matthewhildebrandt1901
@

I never said to be careful because I thought that you were in danger as a foreigner besides going through the airport and getting question. It’s just New York in general in America like America is a very dangerous place. It’s changed a lot I mean think about a country that doesn’t even protect his children from gun violence. I’m sure the kids in the UK or China or Thailand don’t worry about dying when they go to school every morning. It’s a dangerous country and it’s sad because a lot of Americans carry guns cause they think they need protection. If your country safe, you don’t need protection. 🙄 so that goes to tell you the mentality of most Americans they believe that it’s dangerous here.

@JustSomeRandomGirl888

You have traveled all over the world. You seem to maintain awareness of your surroundings just fine. Your experience is yours. People always want to project their fears on others. Thank you for taking all of us along!
