I normally dont comment but I just wanted to say that I'm one year away from graduate something similar to a highschool in Germany. I love Biology and especially Neuroscience so its quiete obvious why I watch these videos in my freetime. And well I have to say even though its "just" an introduction personally I've never seen anyone explaining better than this guy :) thanks for that. I'd love to study Biology later but unfortunately my grades are not good at all so it'll prob just stay my hobby :)

Is there anything as difficult and stupid as medicine at the same time? People who do this

What does this guy say on the street to people afterwards matters. They will say what "I" want is what he will tell everyone something different on the streets.

Lets talk about what the brain does and ask and tell your neighbor about this. Go have discussions with them. That is is what causes you to read and to type. How to use the phone! So when you damage your brain lots of things are lost. This is what he needs to tell them.

At 50 seconds in ...you cannot say 'rather unique!'. Something is either unique...or not unique..ie without an equal.

My wife is a doctor from India and her goal is to become a neurologist. She is studying for the STEP 1 exam. Since I'm a telecom engineer, she asked for help understanding neuroelectrical signals. As I dug in, I became more and more fascinated by neurology. I have no desire to change career fields, but I'm going see how much I can learn from awesome lectures like this. Kudos to @sweetdreamsiess. I didn't find my passion (optical networking) until I was in my forties. When the studies are exciting, instead of a chore, work becomes very rewarding.

I have been confused by the description starting around 24:35 the descriptors showing a simple circuit depicted by a line and the triangle... what confuses me is the pointing of the triangle an arrow perhaps of which an neutron (Excitation) shows it is triggering the adjacent neurons with a basic MicroNetwork Motifs schematic what confuses me is the depiction of the 'Excitation' Motif, is the arrow depicting direction? Hence a triggering mechanism direction depicted by the triangle or an arrow?

My husband past away of MSA multiple systems atrophy, it began with his legs being weak and feeling water inside his knees in 1998 and Kaiser Dr diagnostic it was arthritis by 2006 he Lost movement and control of his nerves he would be trembling, gain a lot of weight.
After that he was sent home and never drove his patrol car again.

Think of neurons as very sophisticated focusing mirrors for electricity that bend differently based on the chemicals they're bathing in.
