Thanks, it's a great tutorial! My only concern is that no eye contact is being made in the conversations and that is quite unsettling. Could you please look into it? Thanks.

@rohitram4987Wouldn't've thought that intonation had been so challenging. My English professor were about to kill me.
@Vinnie-o2xI never thought about that in my mother tongue
@adamkhalil5946Not that much helpful for beginners bc there are no arrows showing intonation direction😢
@Couch_fighteryes, the intonation in my language is so similar to English and to every language because the intonation expresses human feelings in general
@محمدعلاء-ي6كThis is really helpful! For both effective communicating and IELTS speaking thank you for the information.
@1011ithe girl didn't do a good job at 2:33.
1: she wanted to demonstrate the rising intonation but she used rising-falling.
2: her falling intonation is barely perceptible
3: her falling-rising sounds like simply rising.
This is really great I learned a lot unlike what I learnt before this changes everything
@KutiOlufunmilayo.RI've been studying English for almost 50 years, and I've never met this kind of information anywhere. I mean, the intonation while giving new and old information. I appriciate your vodeo!
@lyubovspb348It's confusing and I have no idea how to make them remember.Ahhh
@starstar-e5zFrom my perspective, its not as difficult as it may sound. If you watch movies and series in English and listen to podcasts, you are likely to perceive the nuances and differences. I'm not a perfect user of English, but i think if we know what we are talking about depending on the situation, intonations become easier. On the other hand, when you are constantly worrying about rising and falling tones, you have a high chance of making a mess.
Best of luck, learners❤
Very informative - thank you so much! Intonation is tricky to say the least 🙂
@BestEduLearnPOV: you are here because of your English exam

Intonation in Arabic is the same like in English. We use falling and rising tones in different situations to express surprise,anger, excitement....etc.
涨姿势了,语调那么博大精深呀
@NingNingSUN-e2gHi! I'm looking for a native speaker to practice languages and make a new friend. If you're interested, I'd love to connect! Please share your contact info or reply to my comment, I'll send you my WhatsApp number. Looking forward to hearing from you!😊
@Mr.GM-Techthe Did you part is so hard lol
@yoyingcc🤍🤍🤍
@leilalindamekhoukh3754Great. Thank you very much.
@azizaali4405But in my school i studied (when we have WH questions falling)(when we have yes/no questions rising).is it correct???
@ChyrazAnnabaI don't think that the however at 2:01 was correct to say because the man was talking about something irrelevant to what the women followed the conversation with so it should be just an "and" there and not however
@M.SALMAN-b2nI am from Burma, next to Thailand. It is very useful for us because our language is too flat. When we speak,we have no stress word or intonation.
@Gap-Language-Center❤❤❤
@hanveAll this talk about sandwiches make me hungry.
@MarcusStenberg-ki8kuIt seems to be not very important. However, thanks for sharing this educational video.
@tanhimdhrubo8128I didn't really find the difference.
Why?😞
If you pay more attention, she made several falling intonation when she wanted to give examples as raising intonation
@dongwang3569Why do you confuse tune for tone?
@abioyeopeyemi4222Hi all,
If there is a specialist in intonation, or even maybe just a native English speaker reading this comment, I would like to ask for some help.
Although the video is amazing, I wonder if it could be some mistakes in it?
I don’t know if I’m wrong, but in my opinion the intonation they use in the dialogue doesn’t follow in all the instances what they explain about the use of intonation.
I will focus in one passage that starts in 04:40
1)What I hear when they speak is as follows:
Did you get some bread?
I thought you were going to get the bread (SHE USES A FALL WHEN IT SHOULD BE A RISE(OLD INFORMATION)).
How are we going to make sandwiches(HE USES A RISE WHEN IT SHOULD BE A FALL(NEW INFORMATION)) if we don't have any bread( HE USES A FALL WHEN IT SHOULD BE A RISE(OLD INFORMATION))?
We can go to the bakery(SHE USES A RISE WHEN IT SHOULD BE A FALL(NEW INFORMATION) and buy some sandwiches there.
Well, I hope someone can shed some light to my doubts. Thank you very much for your help!!!
Hi, friends!
There are 3 types of intonations in the Czech language, which is my mother tongue:
1) Falling (declarative sentences and complementary questions)
2) Rising (yes/no questions)
3) Discontinuing (when the speakers want to continue in their speech, i. e. their speech isn't finished yet).
The intonation in Czech uses grammatical, affective, discours and index function. The only function which isn't used is the lexical one.
Please, let me know whether it was clear to you.
Bye and have a nice rest of summer holiday! 🙂
hardly recognisable for foreigner
@lpasgsni522I came here because it's always my intonation getting bad score when I study english
