We visited Scarsdale, the richest town in New York, to see what life was like for the Wall Street elites who live there. With its top-ranked public high school, open town filled with local stores, and gorgeous neighborhoods, we wondered: Is it the perfect town?
We believe it’s important to hold a mirror to all of America, and that includes rich towns like Scarsdale.
Scarsdale is a village. It's perfect ! By the way,a home may cost millions but the taxes are very high, Hundred thousand and up.

As someone from here....it sucked growing up here. The nail that sticks out gets hammered back down. My mom, to this day, regrets not suing the school board for the relentless bullying I went through and how the school blamed me for how I was treated down to a near SA incident in 12th grade. The line about how the public high school looks like a college did make me laugh though. We all talked about how it was designed by someone who designed prisons. But anyone who thinks this town is great is delusional and the people who live here a delusional... And this is why I moved as far away as I could once I graduated. Money can buy a lot. But it can't buy a functional family and when I learned about how the school system started encouraging to report students who didn't conform to the norm for the town as potential school...you know...suspects...I was horrified. I learned this as an adult and it just reinforced how terrible this town truly was. As one of the kids who didn't fit the norm, my first instinct was, as I said, to get as far away from there as possible. Everything about that town is so backwards and I am happy I got away from it.

@marciazapata8031is it good if you have 'affordable housing' near rich areas? doesn't the imbalance make it harder to trust one another. I am shocked that you are allowed to point out their private property like that, in singapore, you would not be allowed to do that. we can enter those streets and walk around but no filming and taking pics, your laws do not seem to protect the rich much.

@cryptoisnotthewaywestchester county and generally speaking to a larger extend fairfield ct and northern jersey suburbs/rockland ny are the best of both worlds when wanting to settle into nys bc you get to be at the suburbs w top notch schools safety n more w also easy n amazing access into the city from the metro north lines.... likee it is truly someplace id love to live in someday bc i love new york and the northeast in general, lower new york state is superb esp in westchester hence ur connected to the city in some ways or another culture wise

@Ohwellok-d1nI delivered mail there for a few years. Parts of some neighboring towns like Greenberg, Ardsley and Yonkers actually uses a Scarsdale address
@gdougWestchester County is the wealthiest county in the country and as someone who went to school and lived less than 20 min from Scarsdale it is beautiful and the walkability is amazing. I used to want to live in Scarsdale for my first home.
