Ina Garten's Baked Shrimp Scampi 🍤 | Barefoot Contessa | Food Network

Video Overview & Insights

You've never had shrimp scampi quite like this before! Ina's dish is baked, buttery and breadcrumb-topped — and guaranteed to impress.

Why do they not take the tails off? I have always wondered that. Who wants to bite into a tail?

What marinade?

— @clarabell60z

Total: 43 min

Prep: 30 min

I’ve made the baked shrimp many times….I think it’s in one of her cookbooks. Absolutely luv it!

— @Debbbdeb

Cook: 13 min

Yield: 6 servings

Ok looks great, but why not remove the tails. I know it looks great but is a total mess for your guests to eat.

— @graciaschlafly7183

Level: Easy

Ingredients

Saved this immediately!! ❤

— @cecileroy557

2 pounds (12 to 15 per pound) shrimp in the shell

3 tablespoons good olive oil

Nice shrimp dish but its not scampi.

— @michele-kt

2 tablespoons dry white wine

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

She is basically copied shrimp oregenata.

— @surfrat8884

12 tablespoons (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature

4 teaspoons minced garlic (4 cloves)

Looks wonderful, but if you would put it in the refrigerator for a while, wouldn’t the lemon juice start cooking the shrimp they would start kind of turning white, no?

— @laura7511

1/4 cup minced shallots

3 tablespoons minced fresh parsley leaves

woman knows her food-give her that

— @ed19742006

1 teaspoon minced fresh rosemary leaves

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

I made this for a luncheon and it was a hit!

— @OhSoCarmen

1 teaspoon grated lemon zest

2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

I’ve made this recipe several times and it is top-tier!!?

— @DeeDeeBenjamin78

1 extra-large egg yolk

2/3 cup panko (Japanese dried bread flakes)

Pasta with this is great

— @RonaldRaco-n2e

Lemon wedges, for serving

Directions

In this video, she looks and sounds like she may be fighting a cold.

— @gregorywojtera7283

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.

Peel, devein, and butterfly the shrimp, leaving the tails on. Place the shrimp in a mixing bowl and toss gently with the olive oil, wine, 2 teaspoons salt, and 1 teaspoon pepper. Allow to sit at room temperature while you make the butter and garlic mixture.

A velha parece q tem nojo de provar a propria receita

— @DanielaNascimento-f9h

In a small bowl, mash the softened butter with the garlic, shallots, parsley, rosemary, red pepper flakes, lemon zest, lemon juice, egg yolk, panko, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper until combined.

Starting from the outer edge of a 14-inch oval gratin dish, arrange the shrimp in a single layer cut side down with the tails curling up and towards the center of the dish. Pour the remaining marinade over the shrimp. Spread the butter mixture evenly over the shrimp. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until hot and bubbly. If you like the top browned, place under a broiler for 1 minute. Serve with lemon wedges.

YALL, One of my biggest issues in food is preparing seafood and no one washes it off first before using it. Oooooh WTF!!!!

I’ve only made scampi with lots of sauce. This looks quite dry in comparison. However Ina Garten you are my ideal chef and I trust your instincts and knowledge. I’ll give it a try
