If You’re Thinking About Going To University, Watch This
Video Overview & Insights
How we can fight back against universities:
Charging tuition fees in a developed country is already a questionable situation. Many young people are encouraged to take on significant debt before they fully understand where they'll be in three or four years' time.
Educational institutions should be held to a higher standard. No course should be marketed without clear evidence of realistic career prospects and earning potential. If a degree cannot reasonably lead to employment that allows graduates to repay their debt and build a decent quality of life, then students deserve to know that upfront before committing tens of thousands of pounds. They just sold a service and secure a pay whether its lumpsum.
Education should empower people, not leave them burdened with debt and uncertainty.

I HAVE A DREAM SIMON. HELP PLEASE!❤
I’m Simon Squibb, and when I was 15, I was homeless. Now, I have more money than I could ever need, and I made it by starting 19 different businesses.
When I first got rich, I was depressed. I realised I had no purpose; the system was broken and no one seemed to care. So I’m dedicating the rest of my life to exposing the system by teaching people business and using my money to fund people's dreams.
Here in NZ we have interest free student loans. It's diabolical to think there is interest on students.
I have currently given away over £528,473 and platformed over 3,000 people to share their dream to millions of people.

So I have question for you,@SimonSquibb
Going to university is not ok because it just gets you in to debts we can't be able to pay? Is this the deciding factor whether or not to go to university?

Schools are at fault as well, they actively help and push students to apply for university so they can get good numbers in their target reports.

This is not only for 18 old ones … same for families with kids who they signed up for a university and thinking that can have a better future after university

Simon could you come to Nottingham? I think you’d be interested in mine and my husbands story 🙂
@jenniferdickenson5342I am literally graduating tomorrow ! Masters Degree in engineering . And for some reason I do agree with you Simon ! I would be more than happy to have an intellectual conversation with you on what is the goal beyond your message and how it can be achieved , to overcome a system that has been ruling for so many years .
@abednour1486I graduated from the University of West London with 2 Business Degrees(Foundation Degree Business Management and BA (Hons) Business Studies Degree in July 2015 at 33 with zero student loan debts because I paid only £5140 in total cash because I studied part-time evenings whilst I worked full-time during the day earning full time money. I was able to pay it upfront with cash because a part time university degree course only cost £1500 per year and I started university back in September 2010 as a mature student at 28 and I finished university at 32 going on 33 in February 2015 and I had my second university graduation in July 2015 six weeks after I turned 33 in June 2015 and I also had my first University graduation at 31 in November 2013. The student loan debt system is a trap that the UK government set up on purpose and i fully agree with you Simon.
@Quincy82AACGot a degree in biochemistry. Never worked in a lab for a company

@MohmaLaraibGood luck by the way Simon..... I was a student back in 1998 and owed thousands
@StephenHughes-i2shats off to the last guy "imagine if the student loan amount had been avaliable to young people to spend on anything they liked"
@4kuhdmaker610I went to university on plan 1, the debt was £20K, it felt like a lot then.
I remember that going to university was sold as a way to better yourself, attain a good footing into a decent job. I was lucky, that was mostly the case for me. However loads of grads now cant even get a minimum wage retail job they could have attained without the degree. I dont think people mind paying for further education (although I do think plan 2 and the fees are even more insane than plan 1, £50k is madness) but quite rightly they want the opportunities to be there that theyve been working towards. Students should only be going to university now for fields that require specific education.
Volunteering, apprenticeships and studying at open university while in work already with established experience is now the best way forward.
One of the ways to reduce this is simply living at home while there. Trouble is many unis insist you must stay in halls for the first year. Should be able to get a degree with just the tuition cost only, or better none of that at all. Next time you pass a uni have a look at all their new buildings. All paid for by the students
@JamesDean-w9yI've never regretted not going to uni, I love that I have been independent and pushed against the education system/teachers who pushed hard for me and everyone to go to uni, I resisted and spent time to find a job on my own in the industry I wanted to be in, I'm not quite where I want to be, but I'm on track to build out my own skills, business and go freelance ultimately, in the meantime, I'm gaining skills, learning and getting paid, with no fees and debt on my back.
@StephenUnderwood2004Wow 😮 Lucky I did not sign up for university. Would have been an endless headache
@litovillar602717:31 We Should Create The Job
@MbonisiMDude you are my f***ing hero. I am in Canada.I had no idea this was happening in the UK. Thanks for sharing the story, thanks for pushing forward, thanks for fighting forward! If I was there I would join you in the fight for what’s right. I’ll be in England next year visiting my sister. I’ll look this project up and if it’s still happening I will give my time and help out where you need me. Let’s go!!!!!
@GingerNinja007I think it’s just that +RPI clause that’s really the scam. Lots of adults don’t know what inflation is so how is a 18 year old going to know what RPI is.
@gitgudgaming506A very important video to watch
@rmccauley202Is this video being shadow banned? I refuse to believe that there is only 6.3k views (at the time I'm watching) in 24 hours.
@jacobharris4867I’m not sure the message at the end of a video about a student loan crisis should be “give up on higher education” - feels like a pretty stunning lack of nuance when the true answer should be “make education more accessible and affordable for everyone”. Lots to be gained from dedicating yourself to study that shouldn’t be discounted just because it isn’t your personal experience/it isn’t for everyone. Be wary of multimillionaires encouraging the general public to be less well-educated as well.
@Just_a_viewerSet up a petition maybe ?
Apprenticeships instead ?
I think it would be better if when you took out the loan based on 5 year payback the rate of interest to pay back should be a fixed amount, based on 5 years regardless of how long it actually takes the student to pay back - brilliant work btw
@sallyb3806Remember this, the British system has always been about extinguish of its people. Taxes, interest based loans, cost of living, university fees and loans.
@Omarking101Loan terms and conditions seem to have changed alot since they first started out, it might be worth seeing what the system was initially when Tony Blur started the system then who changed what when as now terms of the loan, compound interest etc sound crushing.
@sallyb3806I think Brexit made things worse as less international students are feeling welcome and less likely to come so less money potentially into the uni system.
@sallyb3806If you have to retake a few years, suffer with health issues you are even more in debt, why can't interest be not applied, why can't low earners be offered an extra discount if they clear it early.
@sallyb3806When are you coming to Birmingham ? ❤❤🔥🔥
@sallyb3806Hey,Simon can I please join your media team 🙏🏿🙏🏿
@gamesforumsI grew up working class in a small village in England, worked since I was 12, saved my money, went to uni at 24, graduated debt-free, and built a career as an educator, trainer, and coach that has allowed me to pay for my daughter to go to university and graduate debt-free. I had a dream, and I made it a reality. Now I help other people do that. Is the system perfect? Not even close. The UK is a structurally unequal society. That's why I left.
@alecjigginscoachingNo one want to further study soon :)😅
@BryantTanstarbuypropertycoThis is a financial bondage on people who were not informed or ill informed. It is insanely diabolical.
@fruitinspector8247Go to the end, find a solution for us. We need you. Thank you for everything you do for us. 18:05
@DanielagddeThe main problem is that older people are still telling to millennials "go study hard, get a good job and all is solved" that works for industrial era but that era is GONEEEEE, from the information era now we are AI era !!!!!!! AI got skills in one click and we cant. The same message have been shared from Gary Vee, Grant Cardone, Elon Musk and Jack Ma .... but I dont know why people still educate their kids in a system that doesnt exist anymore.
