Unlock 12 years of IELTS Writing Task 2 knowledge in just 6 hours!

4:36:30 Chris i understand that when giving examples, solutions and such writing about just one thing is ideal, if the task presents me with 1 thing i just need to develop this one problem and give one solution to make my life simpler . However what if the question clearly presents two separated problems for example "Thanks to modern undemanding lifestyles people have been more sedentary than ever. Alongside with it, their high-calorie diets contribute for increasing the number of overweight individuals. In your opinion what would be an effective approach to tackle poor diets and lack of exercise". In this case I could not just ignore the question and answer just one think right or could I? I dont think i would get a good task achievement if i did.

Addiction to social media can cause distraction making one forget other important task that they have planned to do.

Hello Sir,

I was looking at the example you gave us about elderly people and advanced technology.

The question asks 'How can the elderly benefit from using advanced technologies?' and the example answer given was 'In the UK, millions of elderly people use iPhones to FaceTime their loved ones.'

I understood the question differently. I thought it was asking how advanced technology needs to become more user-friendly and accessible for elderly people, for example, having simpler interfaces, larger buttons, and easier designs so that those who struggle can still benefit from it.

I felt the example answer only states what elderly people do, but doesn't fully explain "HOW" they can benefit or what needs to change for them to benefit.

Could you please explain why the example answer is correct? I want to make sure I understand properly for my own answers.

Thank you!

Thank you for your helpful videos!

I’m a little confused about the Problem/Solution essay structure -in your 'IELTS Writing Structures Guide' PDF guide, it says to include 2 problems and 2 solutions, but in this video you say that 1 problem and 1 solution is enough.

Could you please clarify this point? Thank you! 😊

@4:13:10 I disagree with your topic sentence. Your topic sentence is "Children should remain indoors at night because it is not safe". The question is specifically about teenagers, whereas you are using the word "children", which is not the same as teenagers. I would personally use the word "teens", so our topic sentence would be "Teens should remain indoors at night because it is not safe."
Is my understanding incorrect? Curious to hear what you think
