My ib assessment is today wish me luck so I can get in
@kailman7096my hungruy ass thought this meant IB the game
@greyfurnsIs it bad that I actually want to do this? I might just be being naive, but I feel like this would work for me. I need things to be harder and require more thinking for me to do them, and I like the idea of needing all these requirements because it will force me to actually be involved and understand. I know I probably wouldnāt be able to get in, and regret my decision if I do, but I really want to do this. Iām just not that academically strong.
@LORNE-VIXENI am going to be a sophomore in a few months and I plan to do the IB program. I have some ideas on ehat I want to study in the future. I am interested in both biology and engineering, hereās the problem: my schoolās IB classes give physics and biology seperately. If I choose physics, I wonāt get HL Biology for two years (My school isnāt in the US). Both classes still teach HL IB Chemistry. What fields can individual IB Physics and Biology get me into and under what circumstances should I choose. Also Iām not really interested in the main physics fields like mechanics, thermodynamics and electronics (I attended the physics olympiad classes in my school with my friends but quit because the topics just werenāt for me.). The main āengineeringā fields I am interested in are architechture and comp sci. Does not picking IB physics prevent me from studying in these fields and finding a job? Basically if I choose physics I wonāt get biolıgy at all and vice versa.
@SpectrespecI did A levels. Much cleaner, simpler and more affordable!

@dayisaldanaHello, if anyone has any useful information and tips on how to excel in the IB Programme grades 9-12, if you could reply to me and tell me anything I need to know that would be fantastic. I am currently in grade 8 and going to transfer to IB in grade 9.
@kritixonmobileI don't think I would have done the IB program if I could do it over. Yes it definitely makes college classes easier, but the burnout, stress and absolute wreck of mental health endured those 2 years was not worth it. I'd only consider it if I was 100% going to go to a university in a different country
@bbycosmicHonestly, as much as it sucks, Iām pretty grateful for the IB. It stands out as a high-school program and I would say itās very good at preparing you for college. Some tips for students joining the IB tho:
1) Be open and transparent with your teachers about EVERYTHING from DAY 1. Donāt let your pride take over you. Itāll save you a ton of trouble down the road
2) If you donāt really like a lesson, I donāt care what your coordinator says, DO NOT TAKE IT! I just finished the November exams (I graduate may 23). I missed the 7 in math AA HL (one of the hardest IB courses) for 1% and got a 4 in italian ab initio because my coordinator thought my program was too tough and I needed an āeasy lessonā, so he gave me italian (I hate learning languages but didnāt disagree at the time). On that note, do some research before choosing courses, and if you feel like you need to change a course, do it early on.
3) Donāt take computer science. Seriously, itās the only course with an IA that makes the EE look easy. On a serious note, the IA is ridiculously hard and annoying, and Iāve never seen a course ask for CS. The lesson isnāt particularly fun either. You barely code and just regurgitate stuff from the text book
4)Just have fun! If you choose the right subjects, sure itās gonna be a lot of work, but youāll seriously enjoy it as well. My math course is my hardest course, but itās also the only course (besides the mandatory ones, obv) in my program that I would keep if I could make it over
Dropped out after 1 year. Wasn't for me
@fjoelpriceAny advice about IB MYP? Is it worth it? How is it compared to public middle school curriculum? Or does IB make more sense starting high school? Most of the IB online material only takes about IB in the high school so any advice is highly appreciated
@TheHassanomIf you are thinking engage IB, think twice, you probable are spending your time
