When I bought it, I thought it was a one-off experiment. A proof of concept before Apple launched a foldable iPhone.
Eight months later, and after switching back and forth between the iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro Max, I’ve completely changed my mind.
I absolutely love my air. and I have had the 17. The 17 pro and pro max. But I finally made the decision to keep the air. It’s so think it feels like a toy phone in your hand. Keep up the amazing videos.
In this long-term review I talk about the design, battery life, cameras, performance, accessories, and why I think the iPhone Air might be far more important to Apple’s lineup than any of us originally thought.

Your realization of the weight issue was what got me to buy an Air from Amazon. $750 with 10 battery cycles. I’m selling my 17PM to my friend for 1k. I’m giving him a deal because he’s rocking the 11 pro. For me it came down to weight. I’m over these phones getting heavier every year. We are going backwards with the pro’s. Figure out a new type of battery that is lighter and put the pro features in the Air. That should be the future.

Love my light gold air. No battery issues at all. Reviewers have exaggerated battery life. I get a full day and then some for the next day and I’m a heavy user. Cameras could be better, but since my wife has a pro, she will send me pictures and it’s the best of both worlds. I have a light phone she takes photos. I have no problems.

Yeah, about these prices. Not that the iPhone Air 2 won’t be any cheaper, but based on the price increase from Apple is rumoured to go up from anywhere between $100 to $200. I am currently using the iPhone 13 Pro Max, long overdue for an upgrade and was waiting for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. But after the price increases I said, F. this! Today I purchased the iPhone Air for £749 (256 GB) on Amazon. Cameras don’t bother me, I shoot with my Sony A7 V. Speakers don’t bother me also, always use AirPods. And while at it I upgraded my Apple Watch S8 to Apple Watch Ultra 3 for £619. No point of waiting for the new highly overpriced products. These ram shortages and price increases are getting out of hand.

For me, the most important thing is a large screen and low weight. Cameras don't really matter. I always use one anyway.

@BassedinVegasDavyoI managed to get the air refurbished and loving it. But only use it at home and when I am riding my bike which charges it as I ride. So, perfect for my use case. But i still keep my pro max as my main phone.
Are the trade offs worth it to use as your main phone? That is up to the user to decide. Personally it is not and I wouldn’t pay £1k for it.
I love my iPhone Air and battery life is excellent tbh.

Got a one week old 512gb air for 50% off as the person regretted and got a pro max, it’s a no brainer at that price.
@panamacspana8498I bought the Air from Amazon in about February. It was reduced to £800 - new, not refurbished. That felt like a steal and after loving it for these past four months, I feel that the full price at £999 would have been worth it. Especially when we are generally trading in an older phone for £200 to £400. I came from the 16 Pro Max, which I loved too but the lightness and durability of the Air is such an improvement. Camera, battery life and speaker - all exaggerated by reviewers. Who isn’t near a charger during the day? Who doesn’t prefer to see their phone with 70% so tops up whatever phone they have during the day anyway! If you are out for the day then take a battery pack. I would have taken one with my 16PM to keep that higher than necessary charge level, so no change there at all. The cameras are great and the speaker is absolutely fine. Thanks for doing the video. I don’t regret it yet, feels much nicer day to day usage if u don’t need the Pro Camera.,
Screen feels much more premium even I never liked the bigger screen option.,
This and my ipod... i mean iphone 6s plus are all i need while out lol.
If you don't upgrade every year get this through a carrier deal. $360 to keep this phone for 3 years is a steal.
I bought the air in blue for one reason I wanted to own it one camera one speaker didn't bother me it was the size of the phone and how thin it was that got me I also bought the battery pack and haven't really needed it but have used it just for the odd top up best iphone ever even though it's not the best iphone for doing everything
@graeme66I'm not surprised that they are releasing an air 2. But this phone is going to be just like the iPhone mini, three years and done. It's too niche of a product for it to be in the lineup permanently and it's too expensive for all the compromises.
@michaelbell75the iphone 17 was such a great phone but theyve did anyone that bought it dirty with not getting all the ios27 upgrades because of ram. the air is cool but think ill always stick to the pro max.

@krystianstepien5835The thing that disappointed me the most is the camera, the sensor is tiny and the processing is horrendous - my £250 Poco M8 Pro takes better quality photos in low light.
The battery life however isn't quite as bad as I was expecting, although still not acceptable.
Wish they would have put a silicon carbon battery in it, two more cameras and premium speakers for the price they’re charging for it. It’s the best phone they’ve made in years. Loved it but took mine back cause the battery wasn’t that great for my use.

@jameslowder9247The only compromise is the camera, really. The battery is good, the speaker is just fine. The phone is beautiful, especially the black one and feels great in hand, and the display size is just perfect.

@firedancer1969I took my Air on a 2000 mile roadtrip across the USA earlier this year, battery life is no concern although I was doubting my choice when I arrived for the trip, throughout the trip some of the regions had no coverage for up to 7 hours, some of the best photos I’ve taken on a non Pro iPhone. And after 3 days, no anxiety about battery life. I’ll give it 8/10 and John Lewis are selling at £200 discount too making the Air great value as you said in this video. Great channel!
