His success as a business owner and living outside the poor Black areas probably made white people see him as a threat too.

isn’t Bedford surrounded by existing big league clubs perhaps 20mies away in every direction like Stevenage Borough,Luton Town,Northampton Town,Cambridge Utd or Milton Keynes ? They might be up against it for new supporters when similar sized towns like Yeovil whom are only surrounded by B’mouth,Exeter & Bristol all 45 miles distant yet Yeo still struggle for attention amidst a large catchment area with thousands of people .
