I Tried the Best Texas BBQ in Houston!! (Criminally Underrated)
Video Overview & Insights
Today we’re going on an ultimate Texas BBQ tour in Houston! We’ll try three different places for the best craft bbq, the best historical bbq, and a place that’s serving amazing fusion bbq. Houston has some of the most underrated BBQ in Texas!
The smoke is a by product and only acts to flavour
Pinkerton's Barbecue (https://maps.app.goo.gl/pjhErKynMfZZahtF8) - First up is Pinkerton's Barbecue where we met up with owner Grant Pinkerton. Pinkerton’s has a Bib Gourmand from the Michelin Guide, and they serve up some up the highest rated BBQ in Houston. The beef ribs, brisket, pork ribs, sausages and sides were all phenomenal.
Pizzitola’s Heritage BBQ (https://maps.app.goo.gl/E4Zps9h2R2HZdj8b6) - Next up we met up with Tim Taylor from Pizzitola’s Heritage BBQ to see the old bbq pits that are one of a kind in Houston. The ribs were extraordinary, for any BBQ lover it’s something you have to try, and I also really loved their sauce.
Texas is on fire with their BBQ
Brisket & Rice (https://maps.app.goo.gl/7sMFnvzqo1DFtxxQA) - Next we met up with brothers Hong Tran and Phong Tran to try Brisket & Rice where they make Texas BBQ but with a twist of their Vietnamese roots. Their brisket fried rice is amazing, and you also can’t miss their ribs, and brisket!

In the early times, I drove past this little place called Brisket and RIce at Eldridge and 529 in NW Houston and wondered who in the world would eat at a place in a gas station. Then I started seeing the lines and realized something must be really good there. Then I saw that they opened their stand alone place on Hwy 6 in Bear Creek near W. Little York, so I made the drive out there with my daughter to try it. It was AMAZING! I dreamed about it for days. The only problem was that I ordered way too much food. So the next time we went, we each only ordered the brisket fried rice, and it was STILL too much food. Now we order one brisket fried rice and share it. If you live in Houston and haven't tried it, you HAVE to go. There's nothing fancy about the place or the location in an old strip center lot, but the food is SO good.
