After a year away from Spotify, Apple Music surprised me in ways I didnāt expect.
From sound quality and discovery to the annoying stuff Apple still gets wrong, hereās what actually mattered after daily use.
Excellent review and you hit on all the points that I switched to Apple music. I agree about the algorithm with AM and I find it's better than Spotify

Later I switched back to FLAC, but never back to Spotify.

Reason why I stuck with Apple Music was because of how you get lose-less audio on most songs and Dolby on selected numbers for 23 aed ( ~ 5-6 USD ) and there is no other plan just one, but with Spotify the same price gets you up to 320kbps so youāll have to upgrade to platinum to get more useless features and itās just more easier to sync with other devices which are āAPPLEā because they couldāve just gave a little more time in developing apps for windows and other platforms because it just annoying to use the website on Linux.

I am into Techno, Progressive House and Melodic House. More than 25% Tracks which are new, popular or just classics aren't available on Apple Music. Sharing songs or Playlist isn't possible with Spotify. The Algo is absolutely trash and 1 of 20 are the correct genre. I used it for 6 Months and canceled Spotify too.
The Quality is absolutely a banger, but you will live alone if everyone else uses Spotify.

nice review, i share a lot of the same feelings. if you want a genuinely better experience on Windows (but also macOS and Linux!) you should try the Cider music client. it's a different frontend for Apple Music that's made for the desktop and looks frankly better than what Apple Music's app does. there's no mobile version, but having it replace and improve the desktop experience has been the best move i've done for my music listening in a while
