I Fell In LOVE With CADIZ, SPAIN (Why Does NO ONE Come Here?)
Video Overview & Insights
In this Cadiz, Spain Vlog, I take you with me as I explore my new favorite place in Spain, showing you what to do with 1 day in Cadiz, Spain. Before visiting Cadiz, Spain I didn’t know too much about this city as not many people I met during my travels have been to Cadiz, Spain before. But, oh man, did I fall in love with the magical city of Cadiz, from its old town center to the beautiful beaches and incredible architecture. I hope you enjoy my Cadiz Spain tour!

To start off my Cadiz Spain Vlog, I went to a beautiful cafe in Cadiz old town called El Cafe de Ana. After a delicious breakfast I walked to the Cadiz Central Market to experience local life in Cadiz, Spain and watch tons of people buy and sell fresh fish. Next on my Cadiz Spain Travel Vlog, I climbed to the top of Tavira Tower for incredible views over the city of Cadiz. The views from the top of Tavira Tower are absolutely spectacular. You have amazing views over the Cadiz old town and the beautiful blue water. Visiting the top of the Tavira Tower is definitely one of the best things to do in Cadiz, Spain.
Next up on my Cadiz Spain tour, I walked to Genoves Park, which is the main park in Cadiz. After roaming around the park, I walked to the Santa Catalina Castle, which is one of my favorite places I visited in my Cadiz Spain Vlog. Right next to the Santa Catalina Castle is the main city beach in Cadiz, Spain called La Caleta Beach, which is a must visit in Cadiz. I also tried to visit the Castle of San Sebastian but it was unfortunately closed during my time in Cadiz, but the walk to the castle was still gorgeous!
Your videos have always been very informative and inspiring. I appreciated the one on Malaga before I went. I will be going to Cadiz and Jerez de la Frontera at the end of the year, so I'll take notes on this video too. Thanks, Matt.
For lunch in my Cadiz, Spain Vlog, I went to a neighborhood called La Vina to get some delicious fresh fish for lunch. The La Vina neighborhood is a great place to walk around and enjoy the city of Cadiz. Next on my Cadiz Spain tour, I went to the famous Cadiz Cathedral, which is absolutely stunning and a must visit in Cadiz, Spain. After admiring the Cadiz Cathedral, I went to another one of Cadiz, Spain’s many beaches called La Playita / Playa de las Mujeres / Playa de Santa Maria Del Mar. This is a great place to both swim and surf, depending on the conditions!
I hope you enjoyed my Cadiz Spain Vlog and tour of Cadiz Spain! I still don’t understand why more people don’t visit Cadiz, Spain, because I fell in love with this city and I hope to go back soon!
That typically Spanish breakfast looked Italian to me.

Your joy of discoery is infectious. It seems really deserted and wonder what time of year were you shooting this video? I will be in Cadiz just for a day trip on a cruise in mid-December next month. A bit worried about whether my Hawaii wardrobe will suffice that time of year.I can always layer...
1:23 Cadiz Central Market
3:05 BEST City Views
Right! Listen up!. Cruise ships the size of a city go there, releasing thousands of day tourists. Locals from the region(as far afield as Seville) come to use the beaches.
It's hardly a hidden gem anymore. It's nice to visit for two days (it's not a big city)
4:42 City Park
5:22 Castles of Cadiz
Correction:…. Cathedral was not constructed with USA money but with part of the money from the trade made with things that came from The Americas that were taxed.
7:26 Old Town Cadiz
8:14 Cadiz Cathedral
Was “Catedral de las Americas really built on money “from trade with the US” (which didn’t exist when construction began)
Or was it built from riches looted from Spain’s colonies in the Americas?
9:04 Why I LOVE Cadiz
____________________
Let's make this really clear. The Cathedral in Cádiz, as well as all cathedrals in Spain, were not "built on trade with America". There was no quid pro quo. There was no "exchange". It's called "The Rape of the New World". All the wealth of Spain is from its colonial past, which is gained by slavery and theft of resources. Full stop.

I fell in love with Cadiz and think about this beautiful city a lot! Seeing this video makes me want to go back so bad! It reminds me very much of my birth country of Cuba, specially Havana, the malecón is very similar to Cadiz’s promenade. I’m homesick now!

@isabelyrigoyen1921❤Andalucia❤
@carlbjorling6058No my friend. Cuba was like Cadiz before 1959, now is misery and repression for the Castrism.
@Mydogisthebest224Hate to break it to you but a capuchineo is not typically Spanish, its Italian. We drink cafe con leche for breakfast ! A neopolitana - also Italian !
@RitaGonzalez-gd7nnBeen several times and it is truly wonderful.
@kenlawdavis1742American are so loud about their travelling, so anoying
@doncoder-channelLate reply.....l went in June and there was huge anti-tourist sentiment. I don't blame them, 2 cruise ships were in disgorging 8000 people into that tiny centre! I've been before in winter and seen similar so far too many people are visiting.
@saltaireorangebicyclechopp8555Spaniards go there every summer. You mean foreigners???
@silviamarina8417Oh no, the cathedral wasn’t built with just USA money, although it could’ve been… They mean Las Americas, which is North and South and Caribbean. All that they considered the New World.
@priscillavelazquezsBest city i have ever been to. I want to retire here. Best regards from a norwegian
@bart170It’s better that Cadiz doesn’t get famous. Less people the better.😊 Which month were you there in Cadiz ?
@heekyungkim8147Despite its history, it a smelly old town in decay with too many drunks.
@rdolle990Which month did you go to Cadiz?
@mimi-qf3zkI lived there for 5 years
@asherlevin6795Stopped watching the video as soon as I saw the face diper (mask)!
@waynebrassington809Cadiz is absolutely SHITE compared to Malaga.
Quite the BS. Tell the truth.
You mean trade with the Americas as in Spanish America especially Cuba not the United States
@RPMATXLa belle de Cadix. Luis Mariano. On connait biensur Cadiz!

@design_build_createThis seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
@TravelingisFREEDOMPues si vas a Cádiz, ten cuidado que no te mee un perro.
Es una ciudad manchada por excrementos y meadas de perros.
Looks gorgeous! Some of these aesthetics remind me of Bairo Alto (I explored in one video). Are there any cities you suggest that look similar to Lisbon/Portugal?
@helensmixerYou ask why nobody comes here.
I am on a train pulling out of Càdiz after a wonderful three day visit and can report that the old town is pretty busy with tourists.
THANK YOU GOING OUT THERE NEXT WEEK
@eliaparicio1298I too love Cadiz. Keep it quiet, though.
@chacmool2581At which time of the year was it filmed? Doesnt look much like December haha
@LeptuneCanneti so agree i loved cadiz when i visited many years ago i need to go back there for a longer visit
@bun6758Why not just get a fake beard?
@uncatilaNot the type of place for a drinking holiday, stay on the costa del sol for that. In fact stay away from cadiz. 😂
@CoastOfLightLivingAs an Italian, when you said that cappuccino and neapolitan pastries are typical to spain, you shattered my venetian heart to pecies
@Nico-rw7tv25 years ago my company needed someone to move to Spain, I was young and free so I jumped at it. But Cadiz? Where's that? Well, I spent a year living in it and it was fantastic. Clean, friendly, uncrowded, beautiful, colorful, historic ...I see it hasn't changed a bit in the quarter century (a mere blink of an eye by Cadiz standards) since I lived there.
@carnacthemagnificent2498Our best secret place ❤❤
