A correction: making/writing flash cards is an active process and thus in itself learning. If you let ChatGPT make them, it is - as you say - lightning fast, but you do not learn anything in the "process". It is totally passive and - to my knowledge - against everything we know about learning.

I actually just launched a study platform that tries to operationalize something similar (upload of pdfs, lecture materials, web pages, etc to create flashcards) that allows direct export to Anki, word docs, or csv files. Students can also test themselves directly on the platform with those questions. As a fellow Anki user myself, I wanted to set up a place for less technical students.
