I ATE NOTHING but HUEL for 30 Days and This is What Happened (Perfect Food for CLIMBERS?)

Update March 3, 2023:
Many Huel customers, us included, recently received word that they will be discontinuing the peanut butter flavor. Very sad news for us since in our opinion that was the best flavor by quite a large margin. There are still plenty of other good flavors, but just be aware you won't be able to buy the peanut butter flavor after June or July I believe.

Original Comment:
Hope you guys enjoy this video even though it's a bit different from what we normally do! We just thought it would be fun and interesting experiement, but we would never recommend that anyone does a major diet change without easing into it and/or talking to a professional. Before this challenge, Jason was consuming 1-2 meals of Huel per day consistently so as not to shock his system. :)

Also, even though it's in the video I'll say it here too: this video was not sponsored by Huel!

Could the dietician put some clothes on? I never understood why women feel it’s ok to literally let it all hang out whereas men have to cover up otherwise it’s socially unacceptable.

When you bring a holistic dietition at the end to give you information you've failed. What? Couldn't get a real doctor? Poor end to the video man, might as well have called a witch, a voodoo doctor and a tarrot card reader to give us the final info.

Outro and Bloopers (19:40)

Just looking at the flavors tells me that this product isn't intended to replace all of a person's meals - they are all sweet flavors, not what I'd associate with a proper meal.
Why not offer vegetable soup flavor, pizza flavor, lasagna flavor, etc - you get the idea.

— @w0ttheh3ll

// SHOW NOTES //

INTRO

They worked out how to market slimfast to men

— @sabs7880

Have you ever struggled to “eat right?” I mean everyone always talks about how a proper diet is so important for climbers, but then they say we need such and such amount of carbs and protein and fiber and vitamins and blah blah blah so you gotta get all these ingredients from the store and cook yourself these healthy meals like 3 times a day and oh my god who has time for that?

What if I told you there was another way? What if I told you there was a food that has all the nutrients you need, takes 30 seconds to make, tastes amazing, costs the same or less than regular groceries, AND is delivered to your front door?

I started using huel for diet now , like the only thing I am eating are 3-4 eggs and 1 apple,banana and 2scoops of huel black for lunch and evening creatine and 2scoops for dinner and sometimes coffee with ghee in the morning.

Day 5
My body and all everything feels ok and all had headache that’s all but I don’t think it’s related to huel or maybe it might be but the craving were insane I felt like dieing but was able to hold myself back so it’s good and instead got myself even more motivated and listening to flights Hans Zimmer hehe but I plan this for 6 months I hope I become healthy and loose lots of fat and achieve my dream body 🔥🥰

— @user-eh1vm3qg2h

You’d call me crazy, right? But as it turns out, this magical food does exist. It’s called Huel and it’s advertised as a “nutritionally complete food.” So I made a decision, in the name of being healthy and climbing well! I’m throwing out everything in my pantry to see what happens if I try to live, work, and climb on only Huel for 30 days.

Considering I don’t exactly have an “iron stomach,” this… could get interesting.

huel is formulated to match 2000 calories to 100% (ish) vitamins. it would be nice if they had custom formulations in terms of calories but unfortunately that's not an option

— @anarchodave7997

In this video we’re taking an up-close and personal look at what my mind and body endure while only eating Huel for a month. To that end we’ll take a series of objective and subjective measurements related to overall health and climbing ability and track those changes week by week. I’ll also vlog the entire process so we can experience what happens in real time. After that we’ll call up some experts to get their opinion, and then I’ll share my personal thoughts on Huel and the challenge as a whole, as well as my recommendations for other climbers.

DISCLAIMER

The idea of a nutrient-packed meal ready in seconds is appealing. I've found similar ease with LyfeFuel's plant-based products.

— @iggiebrightwell2502

Right before we jump into it I want to be clear that this video is not sponsored in any way by Huel.

Also, remember that I’m a physical therapist, not a dietician, so take my opinion on nutrition with a grain of salt. However, we will be talking to a real dietician later on, so stay tuned for that.

Trying Huel for 30 days sounds intense. I’ve been experimenting with different nutrients myself, including some plant-based options like LyfeFuel.

— @lisandragalka5299

Ran out of room!! For the rest, please check out the show notes:

https://www.hoopersbeta.com/library/i-ate-nothing-but-huel-for-30-days

It’s not meant to be used like that but okay. It really is an alternative to junk eating when you are late or haven’t the time. The rest of the time you eat a healthy protein rich, fibre packed, veg rich meal like a grown up. 😊

— @SolrenCaelwyn

// DISCLAIMER //

As always, exercises and rehab programs are to be performed assuming your own risk and should not be done if you feel you are at risk for injury. See a medical professional if you have concerns before starting a new training or recovery program.

Huel's business practice SUCKS. I put a single order in to try the stuff, and they added me as a recurring subscription without my permission. It was then very difficult to un-subscribe. This is what a scam looks like - they can't sell enough product on it's own merits, so they have to coerce purchases. Doing that, they lost a future customer.

I have been eating 1-2 hot and savory huel meals a day for the last 3 years. I am vegan and I climb and lift. I always add one tablespoon of pea protein to my meals to add protein, but other than that, I LOVE HUEL

@sciencesaves
@

Srsly, it is written on their web page that you SHOULD NOT eat only huel. Don't know what you expected.

Love Huel, lost weight, got rid of most of my extra Sugar intake and just feel better a have more energy during sport. The one thing I absolutely hate is the bags and the scoop, send a complaint letter to Huel detailing the mess they cause when preparing the next drink, just change to plastic jars that recycle easily. Recommended to a ton of colleagues already.

I’m quite adhd and fixate a little too much on eating, but now I’m super stressed with school (Electrical Engineering) and eat too little. So now I’ve purchase huel and I can’t wait to get into a schedule food wise, while also getting good protein and nutrition. I’m also dieting and this way I can easily track my macros

The thing about huel powder is that you reach 100% daily recommended value of all your micros at just 2 servings a day with 5 servings to reach a 2000 calorie diet. So I think its great for supplementing for 1 or 2 servings a day, but having regular food for the rest of your calories.
