How To Use The New Google Gemini (in 2026)

Video Overview & Insights

A complete beginner's guide to Google Gemini in 2026, covering models, notebooks, personal intelligence, image and video generation, Canvas, and usage limits.

I had no idea. Thanks. I've only used Gemini from my Android Phone. You didn't mention anything about censorship. ChtGPT wouldn't make a photo of a shirtless man, no matter what the innocent context. Also, after that didn't work, I tried something in nature. A butterfly sipping from a flower. Nope, violated content rules. Of course the first fail triggered the second far out morbid relationship.

Let's not forget people...

the more personal you get with gemini (and all ai chat bots for that matter) with giving it access to your various accounts to make things more "convenient" for you, then the more "THEY" know about you, because rest assured that you're information is being collected, analyzed, and sold to their advertising "partners & associates"...

so if you're ok with that then have at it.πŸ˜„

Any benefit to deleting chats?

Is Gems still a thing? Seems like google wants us to prioritise notebooks

@TodayWithWill
@

Thanks for this video!
Do you know if files attached to a Notebook from Google Drive (e.g., Google Docs) are automatically updated to the latest version when changes are made later, so that Gemini uses the most current information, or would we need to manually reattach the latest version?

Nice breakdown β€” one AI productivity move that saves me a ton of time is asking Gemini to turn a messy topic into a tiny action plan first,

use the flashlite, but wash it afterwards properly....

TBH I'm already tired of the speed at which Google is changing features in its various components. I'm more and more tempted to move to Copilot.

I hope you will continue showing us more of the Google Ai suite. They have a ton of stuff and it seems the most robust for basic users

Bravo Paul!Tu es le meilleur! Si seulement tu pouvais nous faire des tutoriels sur l'ecosysteme de Google uniquement! No need to check elsewhere! Gemini SPARK est en route! Fini les tracas de Claude /Cowork/Code/ design!

Awesome Video Paul. Love your content, very informative

@paul - I had created videos using photos of my friends but Gemini now has placed restrictions on using real people. Eg, I used a photo of a friend and turned him into the $6m man. Restrictions are understandable (deep fake risks) but really annoying now. Is there a work-around?

Amazing great tutorial, you are a 1st class tutor and coach, easy to understand and good flow, better then any university

What up boss?... What do you think about people saying NotebookLM is passing up Gemini though powered by it? Not sure I believe it but NBLM remains a powerhouse.

Can we link Notebook LM to Gemini to use as the notebook?

Thank you for the video, Poul! It's so helpful to get a clear overview of the new Gemini features instead of being overwhelmed by everything. Really appreciate your work. Greetings from a fan in Denmark! πŸ‡©πŸ‡°

Hey, Paul. Thank you for all of these great and helpful videos! Regarding Gemini's Personal Intelligence, do you know how that interacts with token usage? Is the entirety of your personal intelligence data prepended to every prompt? I have had music conversations where Gemini says something like, "Since you are a DM for large groups, you might also like this music..." It made me wonder how much of my past chats is eating tokens. Thanks for any info you might have. I know that you can turn off, even temporarily, the use of personal intelligence. But in some cases, it is nice, for obvious reasons as you have pointed out in this video. I am just curious about it effect on my account and usage.

@rtesdahl
@

of note: memory often bleeds irrelevant info into chats and that can be a real problem. i personally keep it turned off.

@aletheuscompendium
@

Paul are you using paid Gemini here?

@ericlopez7967
@

And THIS is why i went with gemini on my personal account because Gemini in work space doesn’t save memories so i would literally be starting over in every chat it was frustrating

Excellent video, and intro (or refresher) for those of us learning Gemini. A lot of useful content and just 10 minutes. I watch a lot of intro material for using Gemini, but your channel is the only one I subscribed to.

@toddpechar8219
@

Might have been good to mention that when you bring your chats together in a notebook it significantly increases your usage. Gemini will go through each chat every time you ask a question within the notebook.

@Peter-oh3lx
@

I wish they just add a floating usage limit widget or something that you can toggle on/off across all the pages. Would be nice to dynamically see a visual of how much usage we have left after each prompt regardless of what app within Gemini we use. Same goes for other LLMs.
