To do that, I will jump into VPN protocols first. These are responsible for encryption and security, and you can configure them in the settings. There’s a choice between OpenVPN and NordLynx protocols. The difference between them is twofold: performance and encryption. NordLynx is a modern, faster VPN protocol with ChaCha20 encryption, which is newer, and designed to be relevant for years to come. OpenVPN is an old, but gold VPN protocol with time-proven AES-256 encryption. It’s slower, but at the same time, it’s considered to be more stable. My own NordVPN setup uses NordLynx, since it’s the fastest, and keeps up to 90% of my baseline speed.

@neilmclean4439Using NordVPN seems to severely throttle my internet speed to the point I can't even use google, or my gmail. (trying to multitask work, and extra circulars). On the work browser, and email, if I connect to use my torrenting software, it 1 slows my work email to unusable, and doesn't seem to allow my torrenting software to connect. It's brutal, and basically unusable for me. My friend and I signed up because she wanted to get content on apps on her Firestick normally locked out regionally. Seems to work for her, but I can't do basic things on PC.
