Thanks for all the info, I have been looking into this for about 2 years now, just really never thought that a 63 year old retired Marine, would have a lot to teach anyone, But I have been an Outdoors man all my life, If it was not now for my Health issues I would put cameras in my van and just go with it. I am goings to test out a few things, Get ready for fall 2026,I have spent 50 years camping in NE Georgia, I do not have a Big Chevy pulling a 35 foot trailer, I don't want that, To much of that everywhere you go. I am more simple, down to the simple. thanks again. I really hope we can chat. Be safe and Blessed Be!!
🙋🏾♀️ Who am I?
Hey, I'm Hiwote, but my friends call me Hiwi! 👋🏾
Thank you!
I'm a podcast producer, and I've worked on shows like Where Should We Begin? with Esther Perel, This is Dating (featured in TIME Magazine as one of the best podcasts of 2022), and projects with The New York Times, TED, and more.
My goal? To help aspiring podcasters gain the creative clarity and confidence they need to create shows that are as unique as they are.
First, love the content. Question: You talked about your mic but if you're interviewing do you need to send a mic to the guest?

⏱ Chapters (update with final timestamps):
00:00 - Intro
Just being yourself is unique and I think it doesn’t really matter how many people are doing the same thing. Youtube is full of people doing the same thing but each one is unique. We are all snowflakes :) I think the most important thing to remember is that whatever we do we should first and foremost do it because we love it.
00:46 - Why You Can Trust Me
01:40 - Step 1: Define What Only You Can Make
I started following you from now! I'm from Ethiopia! I want to be a good podcaster
06:33 - Step 2: Structure Episodes So People Actually Listen
11:14 - Step 3: Recording Your Episode
I want to do one with my daughter about addiction and how it affects everyone in the family. I'd also like to incorporate some less serious and mostly funny stories of random things we went through together.
16:23 - Step 4: Editing Your Podcast
18:36 - Step 5: Publishing Your Podcast

Thank you so much for the tips
I have a question
Is it possible to change a podcast host?
I work for a community organization who used to have an audio podcast last year and the host who created all the accounts left
Now the organization wants me to host the podcast but now transition from audio to video
That's the best practice?
Transfer the accounts from the other host? And how do we do this?
Or start afresh but this time use the organization's accounts?
What would you advice?
Thank you
Yes that is me, and I need to start I’m just afraid 😳 exactly like that !!

@tamuleonardThank you so much all your videos are so helpful 🙏
@Ini-idaraDavidI love all of your videos, they are so helpful!! I've been binging them lately, so thank you. I know you said video is not a priority, that's understandable. As someone who is familiar with making videos and editing videos, I'd still love to hear your perspective on making video podcasts for YouTube and how to distribute those. I'm actually more comfortable with video making, hence why I want to start my podcast with video. You are so appreciated!
@dakotavaleriGreat podcast 👍

@B-MajormotivatorInformation worth hearing! Thank you. Hope there will be more tutorial-style videos for each step such as lighting rooms without natural light, your setup, mic distance, monetization, editing techniques, etc.
