I am watching these videos because I speak Tagalog and Portuguese pretty well in terms of accent, i.e., not with my Geordie accent. In my native English I can't do a posh accent. Not that it matters, but it does strike me as odd.

Oh my gosh! You are our English God 🙏🙏
@JoelMasamba-x8dOne of the most fun videos on RP and heightened RP... but not as amusing as the cockney one, I must say.
@omicroneridani7456I have a question, anyone.
What is the American translation of "gobsmacked" & is it high English?
And what is the American translation of "brilliant"?
What term do you use for the American word "smart"?
Thanks so much!
2:54 Loo is formal upper rp? Really? Always thought it’s informal. Can anyone confirm?
@seyrahgonz1126I luv it.
@Oleg_useWhat I love most about this accent is that funny legitimately becomes funni. That's amazing.
@dutch_asocialiteMay be such flexions are the rudiment of Normans class in tbe history of Britain.
@knarik-bmWhat about aspirated W (or whatever it's called in phonetics) in when, where, what etc.? and many more things, for example the words during, mutual, experience are pronounced quite differently in URP.
@artyomsinelnikov9664The first syllable of "mayonnaise" rhymes with "dah" not "day." The second syllable would, therefore, include the first "n" sound. It was Gore Vidal who taught me this. Ma -yon-naise.
@albertmorris6162So interesting
@JescoWhiteLightningSorry, I didn't like it. Sounds exactly like this old man, I mean without teeth and energy.
@avs1981Interesting. Aly, will it be a part three anytime soon?
@MiLeNkA_M_MThis is interesting and beautiful. I hope we'll eventually speak with the beautiful accent the BBC had all those years ago is part of our culture and it should be kept nicely. Thank you for shearing this, find it very fascinating🙂👏👏👍.
@peacockpaula4723Good video lad.
@AnEnglishmanPlusAmerican7107Playing dnd and i went from a -3 score to a +4 with a headband of intelligence so my DM told me i have to go from talking with a lisp to a very posh accent 😅
@thepimpyodaDamn bro you stink you need to take a shaaaaaa 😭
@kairiasa8227I couldn't quite get the British Empire sentence to come out, felt like sacrilege * shudders in American RP posh student
@oopie2006jolly good lesson old chap
@cine.musiqueGreat! 😂 Daughter goes to a public school this Sep. I asked her if they say "How do you do? "in school.She said nobody. 😂😂
@liontown6437My life's dream is to be idly rich, like Bertie, and have a valet
@spacemanspiff91Oh my gosh!!!!, 😭 If one was talking trash about me I'd beat him
@joelmasamba6762Why, good sir, one must say, one requires more.

@joelmasamba6762Спасибо за видео! ❤
@ЛеонидПопов-о1щLet’s have more of the old chap. Had a jolly time listening to that one.
@RachelPenningtonHullThat way of speaking is what makes the British the world's diplomats.
They can say the most nutty stuff and it sounds perfectly reasonable.
The accent itself, the manner of speech, and a good grasp of vocabulary and grammar.
A high class Brit can insult you and you won't realize it till the next morning.
Heeey...HEY! That SoB called me ugly!
Damnit I wish I could get a good British accent down...
That’s basically Scottish
@agnesfonmartencame here to see what ppls say about the power -> puh
@distinguishedcattnobody will remember the numerous rules, give out some tricks as exercises
@idokwatcher2062I'm looking for videos with catch wars like by jingo and old bean etc. Like the rich dude on Titanic spoke..
@ilovedesertsAnd here we see how language is relative but horseshoe... almost sounds like ebonics in some ways
@iroh8946These two parts were very helpful. I love to Roleplay in DnD and after our current Campaign ends I wanted to do away with my arguably crazy Dwarf with a strong german accent in favour of a new character, an Ex Captain or higher member of the Navy who speaks with a very Posh accent. So thanks a lot. This was rather helpful indeed.
@friedrichderhohevonweedman6093Whoever the old chap is, he’s amazing
@andrearaimondi882My rp is on point but I want to cultivate upperrp...help sir
@jamezy321Wow this is really great! I've always loved old English, but now I realise it's not just use of more archaic words, it's about actually relearning the pronuncation of words I'm learning in my RP lessons right now.
@GFM2750I got them all wrong
@LingIsSomeoneMysterysolvedHorrible English that is.
@buccaschieI still think that Scottish Standard English is the clearest of all the English accents and the most popular by far. Susan Rae is the best example on Radio 4 - Scottish and so, so clear.
@charleskristiansson1296This is so helpful
@danielladifaPlease the kardashians do not represent American accent. We annunciate word. It’s called posh American, lol. But we don’t put the R in India Rnd China. That’s sort of someone in American that is not very educated. I think it’s awesome that black Americans pronounce things different from when the speak with white American. That is what we call talented, plus Americans kept us out of the loop and treated us like crap. So we have a right to talk any which way we want.
@thezmancharActually I didn't get it. The old angry man in black and white represents the upper class posh sound ? In deed verrry bizzar.
On the other hand, the posh sound seems a bit funny in my ears because it sounds like a old Gerrman lady who trries to speak a jolly proper english.

I tried this accent, mastered it. All for sounding arrogant Winston Churcill-ish and commanding.
