My mother knew how to play the piano as a child. She finally got a piano on surprisingly on dad’s birthday because dad bought a riding mower in her birthday! lol! so my oldest sister did take piano lessons once we got the piano but i just tinkered on it. I have inherited the piano! And only know how to play one song with voth hands but not sure how to use the pedals! i did ask chatgpt how to use them. explaibed it to me. The song is “Were you there “. religious song. i have adaped and practiced with ither songs but can only play right handed. i also can tap out songs by ear! I think i will be watching your next lesson. Perhaps improving my memory on visually hitiing the right notes! one song i find difficult is Dale Evans song? i can play the right hand and left hand separately but i can’t manage to play them together! so yes i have song books i can try on many songs. My sidter can only use chods also, But her son has really became a real pianist! Nice to see have found your channel!

I took piano as a child and never understood reading music and would memorize the sounds and act like I was reading the music. I have a better understanding by watching this video than I did as a child...and I'm 50 now. Makes me want to take it up again. Thank you so much 💯

I’m reading for a somg I’m playing, at least trying to play,
on the treble cleff, for a “G” chord, it’s got the “G” In the middle of the cleff, then down to a “B”, then down to a “G”.
Is this an octave with a “B” in the middle??? I try playing it the way it’s written and it sounds ridiculous. I know what a “G” in all its inversions looks like on the keyboard, I know what the sond should sound like and the way this is written makes “zero” sense. Am I supposed to assume something here??? I don’t get it.

The truth, nothing apart from what one learns in a "traditional" way. You did not innovate.Sorry.

To improve my piano playing sight reading I got an old Baptist Hymnal and started from page 1. Pretty soon, your fingers kind of know where to go as you focus your sight on the notes on the page. The crazy part was accidentally playing the notes in the next song at the key signature of the PREVIOUS song! LOL!

You remind me so much of Mary Margaret Blanchard who played Snow White on Once Upon a Time. I don’t know if anyone ever told you this. It’s just something I keep thinking every time I see you suggested in my feed. 😂❤
