Question; Would you use these to make enchiladas without first cooking them in oil or would you still cook these in oil(like you would the store bought ones) before stuffing them with cheese and covering with sauce before going into the oven? thanks

What if you don't own a tortilla press? I'm visiting my best friend in Florida and I swear Mexicans don't exist out here lol! What's the best solution? Will it be hard to roll them out? Or what do you suggest to replace a tortilla press? I have back issues and find some things very painful on my back. Thank you so much for your videos! Hugs from Florida from a California girl! ❤🎉

‼️tip - if you dough feels dry by the time you getting ready to press them down, add a little water to your hands and roll the little ball to hydrate it ☺️

Ingredients:

My tortillas didn’t pop up like that! 😩 I was using a flat top on my gas stove. Had the heat set to about 5 or 6.

— @Robert-bh1ox

Hello Claudia, I want to use this recipe but I also want to fry the tortillas for nacho chips. Cut them into 8’s. Will this recipe be good to deep fry these corn tortillas as well as using them like you did here?
Thank you!

I was told a good helper would be to use some lard or cooking oil to make the tortillas be equally flat and no thick centers, but I was never told how to use it, if it were topical on the press or to mix it in with the flour. Is there any particular way to make the tortilla good, without having such a thick center? I can never get that right.

I think my problem is not getting the flower smooth. Do I just keep adding water? It still feels grainy to me?

I might have missed it but didn’t see it in video how much Masa vs how much flour ?

@mariomoya3953

2 Cups of Masa, 3/4 tsp salt and 1 3/4 cups of warm water.

I am convinced I will make them as good as an average neighborhood tortelleria someday with your help- especially when the ones out American supermarkets and bags suck so much and have been on the shelf for so long, but I would disagree that homemade is better in Mexico. Better to just spend the $1.20 everyday- which I personally can eat because it's a kilo!

Been struggling with from scratch corn tortillas. They don’t poof when cooking. Does not matter how much water I add to the dough

Your tortilla press is SO beautiful! Did someone make this for you?? I bought a metal press and it’s so heavy. I haven’t gotten brave enough to try and make my tortillas yet. But I’m going to try now. Thanks for this video.

Gotta make a tortilla presser 😂

So, Claudia, please make a video showing how to use dried yellow corn: cooking it with calcium hydroxide (slaked lime), washing the cooked corn, grinding it with a corn grinder, and making it from scratch, not using prepared flour. There is a big difference in taste! Oh, YES, making these flexible...is a target ! Thank you!

@kinhason46

Is it okay to use any corn flour? I'm in the Philippines. Those brands i would have to ship from overseas on amazon or something and i'm thinking it would be pretty expensive. How do i know the corn flour will work

I was wondering why my tortilla keep cracking on the edges. So then I have to add more water to the masa. Is it required to add salt?

@lindacardona2449
@

A trick to avoid using two separate pieces of plastic that requires a lot of manipulation when you are making lots of tortillas is to cut slice open the side of a ziploc bag (cut off the ziplock) and leave the bottom as a kind of hinge. I find this quickens the process considerably.
