Never done this before, but it’s helped so much!! I’ve always gotten casted as the comedic relief character that is always quite static and always cracking jokes. That’s like me, but I don’t stay the same like that. The typecast I’ve found from others and myself is “a sarcastic leader, self-sacrificial and complex”. Not too sure if I was supposed to share this but I wanted to anyways 😅

I served in 4 military services and I was a federal special agent for 18 years. I seem to get cast as LE or coach or military, and I am ok with that as that's who I am. I just retired so I can pursue acting full time, and if I can keep working doing those roles, it's fine with me. I want FBI, Reacher, Chicago PD and Fire, Mayor of Kingstown, etc. Look out world...here I come.

Hi, I don’t know if you’ll see this but I’m twelve years old. I’m pretty good at acting. I’ve educated myself on micro expressions, what angles and what height an audition should be at camera wise, lighting, what could be distracting, what’s appealing, etc. I think my main problem is the fact that I don’t know where to start. Say I do go on a few school plays a few local players what comes next? I mean, of course I’m not just gonna go. From School plays to Broadway, but that’s the part that gets me. You know when it comes to like the non-union and SAG-AFTRA stuff. I’m aware that there is an exception to SAG-AFTRA call like Taft-Hartley or something but I think that’s where I’m stuck. I also think I’m stuck when it comes to agencies and stuff. How am I supposed to get an agent that will get me good jobs if I haven’t gotten any jobs?

Typecasting is good to start but terrible to stay that way for most. Many an actor have become bored, frustrated and stymied by only being considered for the same roles. If all you want is to be an intellectual psychopath then great but after ten years you want to play sweet enduring spouse successfully-probably won’t happen. There are DECADES of typecasting ruining and ending careers. Few people can stay within a certain category and be uber successful. Robert Downy Jr. has done a variety of types and was BIG before Tony Stark. Tony Stark was his comeback role after drugs derailed him. Johnny Depp didn’t start out playing quirky characters but once he went there, he blew up. Sam L. Jackson with those eyes and always yelling can pull it off repeatedly too. Jason Statham may not do more than t&a action movies but he fits them. I’m just saying most actors go farther over time when they are more than a one trick pony. Dwayne Johnson wanted to do more than smash and kill and he wisely moved away from doing typecasting. Look at him go.
