3:08 but if a writer is very close to the events they're describing, then it's very likely they have a stake here, or their thinking is shaped by these events themselves (and by the societies involved), and so it's distorted.
In this sense, the most unbiased source of information for Napoleonic Wars would be a Japanese historian. And the most unbiased writer on humans would be an alien.
immediately search for Wikipedia
@Anhao-ye5jrHow to research about how to research

@rishavgiri2006hey i loved your video im a big researcher myself, i now use Obsidian the desktop app lol for notetaking. It'll help you make connections between topics and keep track of things so you do remember 5:40
@TwilightLilithXPThis is such a helpful and concise breakdown! Excellent explanation of the research process and why things are sone the way they are!
@jacquesmendiola-tagle3394I know this is an old video, but it's still insanely useful! I've filmed a few philosophical/psychological style video essays myself, and although the research process may seem intuitive, it's nice to be able to have a system in mind. Thank you for this!
@TariqThinksOK, but what if you want to research something thats modern and that also isn't on wikipedia? What if, for instance, I want to research the history of the "alien stage" series and it's creators. How do I do that?
@TeaAddictIV0:48 If that shows references than it's valid
@AnonymousUser-w2tthank you random yt page
@thekidnextdoor85Wikipedia is not a good place to start. If you want to know the truth this website is filled with misinformation and disinformation.

@zareenlaghari8713Can you do an updated version on using ChatGPT to start your research? :)
@leonlu3894Some Wikipedia articles have a socio-political bias. Take what's found there with a grain of salt.
@ssestakhchrudeus greyrat teaching how to conduct research🥰
@El_BoroffPrimary Lit. Refs. to me are Journals that verify the research being submitted is unique work that follows the Scientific Method, uses proper logic and is definitely third-party reproducible. As the second or later listed author on topics dealing with C-Nucleoside Syntheses and related topics, I worked hard to ensure the accuracy of my Hypotheses and the theoretical implications they extrapolated to form Theories. Some of my lit. searching went as far back as the 1890's long before the WEB and WIKI. Enter the dark, musty, somewhat spooky libraries like Oxford's Bodlein. So, I think your post is a useful place to start doing verifiable information gathering. I am a bit concerned that much of what is presented as fact today is nothing more than personal opinion. Keep up your good work ! Would be nice if you could give your stamp of approval for top professional Libraries for academic searching. If you find yourself "Librarying" in the UK, the Senate House Library University of London, and the Main Library at Cambridge are also quite good. Might be a bit tricky getting into the archives pre-20th Century though. When in London, be sure to take in the BBC's Summer PROMS Music Festival there in London ! Many first tier schools maintain secondary repositories more specific to particular areas of Study. Here in the US for example, you will for example find excellent holdings in the Chemistry Department's Library at Notre Dame.
@ronsindric4241I still can‘t believe they never taught me how to research at school like I swear they thought me all the most useless stuff like giving me „what gives you energy? :3“ worksheets (bro even if food or sleep gives me energy doesn’t mean I’ll do it more once I realize that cause that’s not healthy I just really know they wanted us to write phone in the energy rakers column)
@reweruwu4449OMYGAAWDDD YOU FORCED ME TO SUB IN THE FIRST VID I'VE SEEN OF YOURS, I'VE NEVA DONE TAT 😂❤
@TanvikaSen0615But what should i research about.... 🫠

cannot believe i found this video right when i should be writing my bachelor thesis
@starstaroo48986:56, ma'am with all due respect, my English teachers sucked at teaching this material. He doesn't demonstrate, he just gave me and the rest of the class an Oxford university thesis of teacher shortage and the basic talk "Don't cite Wikipedia, just search the school library sources and anything with gov or org. In fact, I believe you just confirm that no one knows the absolute truth all information written down by someone whom also wrote from another source. The complexities of writing an accurate thesis are challenging, but not impossible.
@NoemyTorres-j1jFirst point made me like this video, I'm currently doing research but was not able to find the resources related to topics. This point will actually help a lot
@abhinavmishra1502Who's here in 2026?
@christianKaelz1. Look at wikipidea for the references
2. Look at secondary sources to get the main idea for what youre studying or reading
3. Take notes of important things that happened or important things to know like dates qoutes, anything important related to your topic
4. Compile everything and polish your work
Can't believe my professor is sending this to me as a resource, lets go!

@alto7183The notes chapter is why a zettelkasten is so good. It’s the “write notes on everything for later” on steroids.
Every bit of research you’ll ever do on a book, an article, a video, hell even a goddamn twitter thread, will be stored in your own personal library where you’ll start seeing connections you didn’t think of before. Odysseas made a great video for setting one up and explaining its worth.
I have personally been using one and it’s been great. I’m even making a source note for this video too 😁
