Why can't I find a channel in ANY language who shuts their piehole and simply TALKS the language??? UGH!!! This is NOT the way to learn a language!! Shut it in English and take ONE VERB, conjugate it in ALL PERSONS with different objects. I want to learn rapidly, not listen to yap yap! SHUTI and SPEAK ITALIAN ALREADY!!! Leaving spaces for students to repeat. UGH!!! better start my own channel, I'll be rolling in YT $$$ cos no one has this!

So have found your videos very helpful, and thank you for covering the basics (ie 'what is a verb', 'what is the infinite form' etc) as this is often overlooked.

Hi Michele. I've just discovered your channel and it's fab. I'm pretty fluent in French and have been learning Spanish for a few months but have always fancied learning Italian too as it seems so similar to French and Spanish and I might as well try to learn them side by side. I'm doing Duolingo which is fine as far as it goes (for random phrases like 'My purple lion is in the windmill!')but I need to understand grammatical structure and conjugation in order for it to sink in. Italian use the present continuos with a gerund for example Io sto mangiando, so its not correct the first information

Ok so the stem changes, for the irregular verbs. For example dire, if you were to say “I say” it would be io dico. But if I were to say “you say” it would be voi dite. Meaning the stems would be dic and dit. I’m just a little confused why they change and if it’s just something I have to memorize.

I know this is an old vid but I have a question. Why is lei seen as formal? I thought lei meant she and lui meant he. Why would they be described as formal or informal when their just describing someone’s gender.
