I went to Pharmacy school years ago with a guy who would always bet at Louisiana Downs to pay his expenses for college. I know very little about horse racing but he would get the booklet they were speaking of and calculate the mph on the track and mph in the stretch for each horse and compared that data when he placed his bets. He also said that he took into consideration whether or not it was a betting stable because some stables wait until their odds are high and then would push the horse to run faster. I don’t know if all of this makes sense but he paid tuition with his earnings. Then again, he could have been blowing smoke. Lol
