@Jaxbricks272Dude, I just got into aquariums and 3d printing at the same time. Imagine my confusion when looking up videos for both hobbies and seeing you doing videos for both!
@cjcampbell09You don’t have to send in Bamboo Labs slicers to print on P1S? That is the one I have.
@CarolSuesCreationsI’m sure other people ran into the same issue. I downloaded the file from thingiverse then to orca and on to a flash drive but when I plug it into my adventure m5 it has no parameters, so won’t print
@lindaklouser7976Thanks your awesome
@Winston-e4yThanks so much. My husband ordered a 3d printer and it just arrived my son is dying to use it and all we could figure out was how to print the boat that comes with it. Thanks for a great tutorial. Now if you could just teach me how to connect it with wifi Id really be in business
@jonniehogan3998Thank you, helped me immensely.
@JonSmith-wg8mrYou never unzipped it and converted the file to an STL. I'm lost now.
@Captain-ElectroYou’re awesome man, this is my first time after my test print and now I’m on to the computer side of it…which I’m not too great on a computer but how you explained everything was gigga smart. Thankyou!!!
@DJames2001I too have been using Orca because the featureset and the UX, even with occasional bouts of Jankman style nonsense, still better than anything else out there. Granted any sufficiently complex software is going to be blessed by Jankman's presence, and Orca doesn't have TOO much of it relative to what it offers.
But there's still things in pathing and material delivery that... kind of irk me. But i also can't quite describe them, or else i might come dangerously close to tuning them out!
So i have a challenge for you, if you'd like to participate. Pick a small model with vaguely complex features and curves, not a box, under 25 grams, and print it with two different slicers, unrelated slicers to the extent possible, so perhaps Orca and Cura, but not Orca and SuperSlicer. You don't have to actually do both prints, but you must have both prints at hand printed from the same material (same supplier same polymer same colour, ideally same exact spool), and it's perfectly fine if one of these is a print you happen to still have from earlier. Not just pointing at the screencap of the path, actual prints. You're allowed to tune the parameters however much you want, for example Orca prints inner perimeter first by default, and Cura prints outermost, which would make for an unfair comparison, with worse surface quality on the inner first but better seam quality, and so on, but effectively, if you can't achieve same exact quality, you'll have to count it against yourself. And then you film or photograph the prints in detail in a way where they can be exactly compared with each other, and you judge their print quality. Also curious how long both prints took, comparatively, though ultimately it's all about quality, not speed. Is that something you'd be curious to do? I want as many people to participate in this challenge as possible.
When I send the file to my 3d printer is does not start printing. Can you make a video on that?
@paxton648How do you open the file through "New project"? It's empty for me. I can only open it when clicking "Import".
@Skrio4Thank you for a great video! Love how you got to the point with step by step instructions. 😊 So helpful!
