5:30 where it says energy supply or demand in the US has been flat for 20 years is largely inaccurate because all that manufacturing that would have indicated the growth of economies had been outsourced to China. So indeed energy has been increasing and how much we use but just not captured in the US only demographic here. So the problem is the data presentation

The superconductor cable is a scam
The solar energy is cheap in small systems but for large projects is not cheap at all. I would argue it's more expensive that fossil fuels.

I can see superconducting cables inside powerplants inside isophase, but pretty much anywhere else, I don't see them ever being used. Maybe in a HVDC megaproject one day. But the power transfer on the grid is already limited by reactance on long transmission lines. You'd probably have to be transferring on the order of terawatts of power for this to be economical. Maybe I'll see it before I die, but that seems like something you won't need until you're basically a type 1 civilization.

You're being sold a lie. The grid must modernize by going on a diet, not expanding. Bloomberg is selling you a lie so that the investor owned utilities can charge you even more for transmission and generation which you don't need. You know this is propaganda because space isn't "cold". Oh, there it is... the Spain incident, failing to note that it was driven by regulators who cared more about having the highest green energy rather than prioritizing grid stability. You don't need a sync compensator, one again, that's expensive and doesn't solve the underlying problem, you need distributed storage. Storage and inverters have solved the inertia problem more than a decade ago.

The power is cheaper than the super conducting transmission lines. More solar and wind power is cheaper than more efficient transmission.

skeptical about veir, moving more energy per cable is neat but isn't it alot more expensive per unit of energy, to account for thr manufacturing and cooling, especially the cooling which takes huge energy in the first place?

There are now 2 Tiers of energy infrastructure in the US, and many other advanced economies. US BigOil&Gas + Investor Owned Utility monopolies provide the fuel, generation, storage, transmission and distribution of our Industrial Scale Energy Tier. Until quite recently, Industrial Scale Energy was the only energy infrastructure we had. In the past two decades, we have witnessed the emergence of new, widely distributed Community Energy Tier infrastructure, consisting of local integration of solar generation, stationary battery storage, electrical vehicle charging & storage, and local utility distribution grids.

Trump’s Industrial Energy monopoly enablers have tasked him with doing everything possible to freeze European offshore wind developers out of US Industrial Scale Energy, and also choke off the rapid, robust development of new, widely distributed Community Energy infrastructure. Their purpose is to disable rapid transportation electrification, and the looming threat of massive, rapid fossil fuel demand destruction.

China has already deployed the world’s largest electric vehicle charging network, totaling over 21 million charging points. This reflects a nearly 48% year-over-year growth, widening a massive gap with the United States (~200,000 public stations) and the European Union (~910,000 public chargers). This is an indication of relative speed and scale of transportation electrification.

Commuters and commercial vehicle fleets require extraordinary fuel cost savings and convenience incentives to rapidly switch to EVs. That’s exactly why France & South Korea have already mandated solar canopy parking lot Virtual Power Plants, with onsite storage batteries, at ALL existing parking lots over 80 spaces, nationwide, within 3 to 5 years, largest lots first.

That's how you electrify, reduce & stabilize transportation costs, AND residential & small business utility bills, really FAST, by rapidly reducing peak utility transmission demand for shopping center refrigeration and small business and residential HVAC loads, AND provide cheap Level-2 EV charging at workplace, shopping center, and multi-family residential parking lots everywhere. Parking lot owners get entirely new income from 25-year airspace leases on their previously ZERO-profit hot asphalt lots. No new utility monopoly transmission or dirty fossil gas peaker plant spending required. And those canopy structures will last for 75 +years (3 generations) with minimal maintenance.
