It seems like pop music is an easy target for some music snobs. But considering it’s a genre that is designed to reach as broad of an audience as possible, we think that most people are at least secret fans. Far from all sounding the same, there are tons of different subgenres of pop music, and they are all traceable back to their historical roots. We’ll take you inside the history of pop music, and explain how it has evolved over the years to the music that we know today. And just in case you think your preferred decade of pop music is special, we’ll let you in on some info about how your brain processes music, and you might just be shocked at your nostalgia colored glasses. After learning all that, we’ll let you make up your mind about your favorite decade of music. @joooooooooohn35Maybe I'm different, but when I turned 14 I absolutely hated the pop music of the time. I hated the music of that era so much that I switched to listening to country music. Which says alot, because before then, I hated country music. But that's how bad the pop music was back then. It was so bad that I found more enjoyment from a music genre that I previous didn't like than I did the pop music of the era. That's because the pop singers at that point in time couldn't carry a tune in a bucket and sounded tone deaf.

@CaptainKirkettePop music is hard to write and produce in some ways which is why most of the people involved in it have studied music it’s more calculated and made professionally for a certain market, it’s not someone with a guitar and writing from his heart. It’s seen as shallow coz the people that perform it don’t really have much to do with the creative process there just the face and they have to look good,not have a personality and get ripped off chewed up and spat out. Nowadays it all sounds the same and who even knows whose singing it, it’s faceless music. Soon they will just have a computer that can do it all on its own by typing in the formula. Pops always been around but there’s not enough music ‘real’ music real people anymore and there’s definitely no rock coz the kids don’t think it’s cool and you can’t blame them. Coldplay are a big thing in ruining guitar music
