This only applies to people who desire to be liked by others. The most powerful people aren’t in business to be liked otherwise they’d share their vast wealth and eliminate poverty.

Many people are after these laws. When I noticed the kind of people they became after applying them, I kost interest in reading this book. I realized truly powerful people never needed to manipulate.

I am an avid reader. This book, however, took me years to read properly and with an open mind. Over the course of a decade, I started and abandoned the first chapters several times. In hindsight, I believe I misunderstood—and was misled by—the title from the very beginning. The word power itself triggered a deep sense of repulsion in me. Any book that dealt with acquiring power over others through seduction, manipulation, authority, or position unsettled me. This one seemed aligned with Machiavelli, whom I had also read. I am a fan of Robert Greene and had enjoyed some of his other works, so I often wondered how someone like him could have written a book like this. But one day, I set aside my scruples and read it thoroughly. I ended up enjoying it very much. Is this book really about power? Better read it.

Robert Greene releasing a book of common sense for people who have absolutely no idea what real life is! Thanks!
@Starkillr1What if your goal is just saying 48 common sense things? Then do you call yourself an author?
@Starkillr1this asshole is rewriting history and gaslighting, he write it in 99 with hone very specific purpose, now that people see right through it, he's trying to take credit for that too.
@feedthesnake3394You said that those are the laws and that we have enemies etc. Now you see what you have done and you are trying to correct your mistake.
@LazarPerovic-w5lWe love this book..love you
@suthardevanandI am to crush and yet be a fool. Got it.
@bigbrother9531Chapter 4 is actual fact tho. Cuz I Will admit, I do sense jealous of my friends sometime if they do better than me, so I’m like, if I feel that then won’t they feel the same to me also? I’m not saying all friends but like to be aware of.
@skyrisesenpaiii678This message should have been addressed to President Trump -
'If all you're after is POWER, the people will eventually turn against you'!
He alienated MAGA, his most ardent supporters, but when they pushed for the E files, accountability, and victims' justice, he told us "I don't need your support, go join the left"; and when we reminded him he ran his platform on peace & no war in the middle east - THERFORE, if he were to bomb Iran back in July 2025 - that would not satiate BB, and we'd end up in a future war with Iran, he called us PANICANS & not his supporters!
We were correct but he has continued down his narcissistic path!
People misread Law 15 Crush your enemy totally. If you are in conflict just close it, don’t stay forever in it or it will destroy you. It’s not to kill your colleague at work who hates you, or to destroy his reputation or even humiliate him.
@ЙорданЙорданов-л9эI have the book The Prince. And boy, was it very unorthodox but awakening
@bluedude7445One reliable way to identify a narcissist (or worse) is to determine whether they viewed 48 Laws as an instruction manual or survival manual.
@CloutRacersLIVEYou need to do 24 laws of love 😮
@ChadPowers7What is the purpose of power? Who, in all of history, does Robert Greene look up to? If all goes well, then learning about power and how to aquire it, will from today, 6th of March, be my new interest, of several(f.ex. how to behave with women, learning practically anything, working out, jogging, etc.)You, Robert, has taught me that money and power are not the same; extremely fascinating. How do you acquire power without having money, or selling your godbegodden soul😊 Thanks for great edutainment, Mr Robert Greene. Btw, is it so, that the most powerful male gets the most beautiful girl. or is it more complicated? I respect women, by the way. Justice for all. I am myself a nice guy with kind intentions, and you, Mr Greene, told the listeners that if you want to be powerful, than you must not be kind!? So I must start braking bad in order to seize power? Do not good guys get any power? Thank you for an awesome show, Robert Greene. Since you Are so kind with me and telling me how to get power, I hereby offer you my friendship(if what you say are not lies)! Say hello to the wife and offspring from me, Robert Greene😊
@Eirikgrind24HoursHow come a commoner preaches about power, and then complains that the very same principles he preaches are misread? Are people really that stupid?
@emiliospowerballer1441completed the book, all the laws are relevant, good to know that some people will crush you without thinking twice.
@salim7701Maintaining power is a constant struggle. I see it all the time! The deception game requires its members to cut out new angles of deception in order to keep the narrative going. "Over time" when the people no longer bend to coercion and or believe the lies. The people will have no choice but to recognize the yoke around their necks! Its a temporary false sense of control where its members need each other to validate and push the same deceptive story..... but when the pressure is on they, the members of deception, will turn on each other. Time and circumstance will expose them.The strive for Power is way too exhausting!
@Moe-x1nToo late, I'm literally Fang Yuan now 😎.
@Kai-zd9vcIf the goal were simply awareness, the structure wouldn’t read like a tactical manual. Calling these patterns “laws” isn’t neutral analysis. It’s injunctive framing. Decades of research on normative influence show that directive language increases imitation compared to descriptive commentary (Cialdini et al., 1990; 2003). I think all of these concepts could have been framed in a more responsible way.
@kss_2.14Dude walking back his whole book. Hilarious
@littlechaqAt some point it's needed 0:41
@real_samfxNo wonder I meet with so many assholes lately,
they think they are on top and I don't see top of what!
so they misread the book in secret, mistake intent of the book and come out here like some GOD'S of Olympus, thinking they shall control way of life ,😂😂😂
phew 😅,thanks for clarification now I won't repeat the same mistake and become 48 ways to be an asshole 😂😂😂😂
I going to read the book properly now.
48 Laws of Power was suggested to me in 2008 by a former drug dealer who was making $130,000 a week before getting thrown in prison for several years. It wasn't until this year that I actually bought the book and started reading it. This book has presented itseld spiritually several times over the years. I used to be very naive and a human doormat. Not anymore.
@KhadijahSays83Thanks man for guiding me and creating a better change in my perspective of viewing a life.
@Hero_ki_kya_baatRobert! 48 Laws Trump edition.
@BiographyCodex2nd law:dont trust your friends all the time and make enemies
@yulduz2807It turned against me 😂😂😂😂😂
@SlimeTV420I am going to buy your book at the start of the next month, Insha Allah, Dear Sir, when you suggest books to your readers, plz suggest them also to read the Holy Quran to ref for the wisdom and the justice whix needs this world.
@InsighttaxservicesI like your channel and how you tell these insightful stories and statements 🎉
@Notmyname420Big fan of your work Robert. You have helped me in many ways unseen to before.
@colinjames7569No one really talks about how there are people who are ignorant and selfish, and no amount of strategizing will make a difference. They have their own agenda and they usually fail and bring everyone down with them
@keenanpryor4965A mind From another planet 🫡
@Greenesmindset-s8zthe preface blow my mind .. how about more pages? this is mind opening book, where people can do better and put the world in a better place not to literally harm.
@AshjamesvillogaI'm fairly certain that Trump has read your book. In reference to the 3rd law of power. Seems like it.
@maritahartmann591Haven't read the book yet , but will soon.
@DjibrilNdiaye-e1gYour book is great.. I was able to be better in power play at work. Office politics 101
@adilahazI think this Machiavellian view of the world is so sad, so dark, so uncivilized.
@andrewdordevic5938Your book changed my life. I now rule everyone and assert dominance
@LendingLooksI am sorry, because I doubted you, although I know laws are true, but those things can't apply to everyone, but as I grow up, I understand society does not work that way
@surya32111I'm reading it only for self defense and knowledge, and as a person who understands psychology it ws the best experience
@NargisAbdul_QayyumDoes anyone else notice that every single millionaire says the exact same things? It’s always mindset first. I used to roll my eyes at that stuff until I picked up a copy of Asher Vorst’s book (Hidden Laws of Reality). It genuinely scared me how accurate it was about human psychology. Once you understand the "mechanism of belief" he talks about, you start seeing opportunities everywhere. I quit my 9-5 three months later. Mindset is literally everything.
@Roman89guySo, which book should I start with? Power, Human Nature, or Mastery? 🤔
