we need to use the oil while the transition happens. so far the solar panels and battery are expensive and electric car, roads with asfalt, pictures oil base, etc agriculture, plastic, there so many things that have to be changed. . it will take time to get more renewable energy to displace hydrocarbon. things are being in developing now. the wealth countries will benefit first, and slowly other countries like Africa, Asia, etc where things are going to take longer. and also depends on governments who could have the choice. I don't think that it will take 10 o 20 years, probably 50 years minimum
