How Marvel Quietly Destroyed Chris Evans's Ability to Exist Alone
Video Overview & Insights
Hollywood careers don’t fail by accident. Chris Evans, once Marvel's dependable "superhero", now faces a quiet string of forgettable streaming releases, shattering his unbeatable formula. This "video" explores how "Marvel Studios" quietly destroyed his ability to exist alone as an "actor", despite his consistent presence in a billion-dollar franchise, marking a significant turn for a major "Hollywood" figure.
This channel analyzes:
– Movie star bankability
I did not know who Chris Evans was before Marvel. Captain America made him famous and rich.
I did not go to the Cinema because he was in a movie before. I don't now either
– Box office power
– Career mistakes Hollywood doesn’t forgive
he and his management made bad choices. there's something wrong with his decision making skills - all of the films he chose to do these years since have been embarrassingly BAD but he would go on press tours saying it was his 'dream' to make those films. no serious actor would ever do a film with 'the rock' yet he was 'excited about it. even with captain america he spun the narrative that he didnt want the role but they had to beg him to do it. entitled misogyny. he thinks popularity is more important than having your own personality, he does things for fame and money, thats it. MCU controlled him, but real grown men don't allow a corporation to control them. They work hard to build a career based on character roles, they develop themselves intellectually and creatively - he does nothing to think for himself. The way he would sit around comparing bicep sizes and ridicule people in interviews was sadistic. He and Paul Rudd made fun of books and mocked people who are intellectuals but then he tried to lecture to America about politics thinking he is smarter than other people because he took his clothes off for money. They were using him as a puppet and grooming his to be a mouthpiece for the democratic establishment corruption because he was sucking the dix of powerful men, socially gay competing with each other on toxic masculinity. He has shown no backbone nor courage, nor is he in control of his life. Marrying a woman of little substance half his age shows he has terrible decision making skills. leaking things about his marriage and his child via 'people magazine' shows he is a manipulative person, complaining about the anxiety of fame but also using the media and PR in the way he needs to to get paid. He self sabotages because he is too arrogant to have his own purpose or to be authentically himself. He's 45 and he has done nothing on his own. Talking about his mother sexualising him for sexiest man alive age 40 shows that he has low self esteem and does things to please her, he does what people tell him to do. Entitled pretty white boy who is consumed and driven by other peoples opinions of him. He has no values or morals. Marvel are a demonic company but he is a willing participant in the hijacking of his career - he doesnt want to be a grown man. Sad.

This happened to all of them, even Robert Downey Jr., the only truly talented one of those Marvel actors—they're all typecast.
@ricardobrandao3560I'm getting George - Superman - Reeves vibes, poor Chris.
@PuzzoozooDisney knew exactly what they were doing when they signed all of them on. They signed them on the cheap and saved money not having to pay mandatory minimums. Most, if not all MCU stars were not well known or leading actors before they landed their respective roles. Before joining the MCU they'd never proven that as an individual they could carry a film. They'd done well with ensemble roles, but they themselves weren't box office draws. And we all sort of knew this because a lot of them talked publicly about how shit their contracts were when they first came on board. Leading actors or box office draws would have commanded better, but there's a reason all of these people were signed on the cheap back then. They might have grown into their roles, but they didn't mature as actors. There's not much for them outside the MCU. It's not that they're terrible actors, it's that they just can't lead alone. MCU and the characters are the stars, not the actors. Disney created famous characters, not movie stars. None had audience pull before their MCU roles and that remains true afterwards. Disney built stars around films, instead of building films around stars. If these actors aren't in their MCU roles, no one really wants to go see them.
@WhatisrightGhosted was shit. I saw the movie. Felt like somebody saw Ana de Armas impressive fight scene in that Bond movie and thought: Hey, let's turn that into it's own movie. Predictably flopped.
Gifted was a way better movie.
What the audience sees is Bingo Martin whipping Jake Cahill's ass.
@morningstar577He wasn't a particularly compelling actor before he landed Captain America. Many of the others (Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Rufalo, Samuel L. Jackson) had solid careers before they got their Marvel roles, so they were able to keep going.
@RS-hf6rnI’m sure he’s made a fortune he’ll be ok
@cartoonsandcannabisSuperheroes have always had a hard time without the cape or mask. Typecasting is real. Just ask George Reeves, Adam West, Lou Ferrigno, Linda Carter....the list goes on and on and on!!!
@dohertydOnly a few actors can carry movies with their name alone
@titoA4794He's been a mediocre actor who got lucky that Marvel made him rich even though he never improved.
@nothankyouthanksforaskingHe needed a role that called for shaving his head. Perhaps an MMA fighter. Something that called for a complete transformation.
@BooBoeI Love Chris Evans as an actor and as a person by what i read about him or saw him talk about in interviews and this video is heartbreaking and scary for me to watch because it is kind of what i felt too a little bit but i know he is a brilliant actor everyone has phases in their career this is that phase and i am pretty sure he is strong enough to come back stronger. The thing which shocked me a little was this was the fear he had actually before accepting this role, this was it. I used to that why he was scared of such a big opportunity now i know why and that makes me even more sad.
@greenemerald373Your videos are always full of shit, you are out of touch with reality
@wolverineiscool7161No mention of Sunshine?
@spaceodds1985TMNT, Gifted, Knives Out, Defending Jacob, and Lightyear showed that Chris Evans has range outside of Captain America and Fantastic Four.
@Hectorferjr2If anybody wants to see peak Chris Evans just watch London (2005) ..it's honestly a great movie
@DamidasHe didn't even like being Captain America The 2011 Quote: "I'm not trying to get too lost in the American side of it. This isn't a flag waving movie. It is red, white and blue, but it just so happens that the character was created in America during war time, when there was a common enemy, even though it is Captain America. I've said before in interviews, it feels more like he should just be called Captain Good".
@starfire3884A perfect example of typecasting! I liked his role in Sunshine, thats a great film!
@craigfayers6735How does an actor "hide" on Broadway?! 🙄
@FrancisSpratley-v5r5yI always saw him more like a TV show actor
@ohmycatvideosHe was solid B list before MCU and he's solid B list without MCU. His mistake was thinking he could open a movie at Captain America numbers without playing Captain America. Sometimes it's not you, it's the character...
@JetJaguarjetThe track record of Halle Berry (X Men), Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, and also Chris Evans, strongly tells us that they are not big commercial draws, outside of Franchises. Cruise and Pitt are probably the last two genuine movie stars on the planet, whose Star power can actually make a movie successful that is not part of a big franchise.
@sdsloveslifeIN an early interview with Chris Evans after the Captain America: The First Avenger - Chris spoke about how he was unsure of the role of Captain America & he had to be coaxed by RDJ - now it seems as if Chris's prediction of being Captain America would cause him to be typecast - This is nothing new in Hollywood. RDJ was able to avoid this situation by getting the role of Sherlock Holmes & being able to do other big budget movies removed from Iron Man. Sadly Chris isn't having the same results.
@mlk27743Hes woke and forgettable now.
He fell, and fell without hitting the ground
Except for Downey and Pratt, none of the MCU actors have done that well outside of the MCU. All of the phase one actors have attempted to be able to head films on their own and not one of those films have done MCU numbers. Studio’s really tried hard to make Zoe Saldana a star. They were sticking her in everything and audiences just weren’t buying it. Helmsworth’s biggest mistake was jumping into franchise reboots that nobody wanted, but were also really terrible movies, and he did two of them. The big problem for a lot of them are simply choosing bad projects. Dave Bautista has been really smart in this regard. His post MCU films haven’t done billion dollar box-office, but they are good films and he’s gotten good reviews for his roles in them.
@JamesNelsonSmithThe industry has been full of ppl w one defining role for its entire existence. This isnt new, nor is it damning.
@kurtshastany1945Chris Evans mistake....is Henry Winkler's mistake.
And it's the mistake of trusting the people you're working with to care about your post-iconic role career.
HW should have been really actively pursuing other opportunities....probably on Broadway, in the 1970s...as an actor, that he would be able to point his agents and casting directors to that showed really clearly that Fonzie was only one role; that he was Yale Drama trained, and flexible. But instead, HW was mostly exiled from our screens, until he no longer looks much like The Fonz. HW did a great job of producing great stuff like MacGyver, that supported himself and his family on. But he had very little evidence of anything but Fonzie, for years, to hand a casting director.
Chris Evans has only like, 5 other movies, across the whole decade plus he was Captain America. Nothing on stage, at all. He didn't actively pursue other projects, that clearly demonstrate his range as an actor, that his agents and casting directors would have immediately at hand.
Compare that to Tom Holland's 13 not Marvel, deliberately supporting roles, over the years since Tom was cast as Peter Parker.
Or the 12 not Marvel roles Mark Ruffalo has played, since he got Bruce Banner.
It's totally fine if any actor wants to try different things. But that actor has to be actively, documentedly, doing those things, so you can hand the evidence to your agent, or a casting director, when you want a chance at a different kind of job than Cap, or Fonzie.
No one cares about the opioid crisis they want action and ecplodions
@TerAnce-s3f6oYou forgot Defending Jacob which was a memorable mini series which he was the lead and his performance was praised.
@Stephen-to7jxBeyond Marvel, I have watched Evans in others movies as Before we Go, The Gifted, and Knives out. And I realised that he actually does a pretty decent job in all his projects, I wanted to see the Materialists too, but the fact is I never felt the pull to watch Him in anything beyond Marvel.
He will always be Captain America a.k.a Steve Rogers for me that's for sure, I instantly fell in love with Him being the character ❤But really wanting to see him Beyond that is the actual Question...for me
Huh? He did it to himself with his constant rants
@alejandromolinactypecasting? but i thk hes awesome in anything i luv liteyr etc i dont believ in TC pple need 2thkBIGGER -- chris is fine it's perspective
@USECODEuniHello, Cinema Fallout, my name is Malcolm White, and I just wanted to say that I am such a big fan of your YouTube educational channel! The contents that you post about are so amazingly spot-on, and also, the value that you add to your video topics are so absolutely incredible, and insightful, as well! Please keep continuing to do this brilliantly motivational channel up, and running, my good friend 💯👍💯👍💯👍💯👍💯👍!!! PS: Do you think that you can please do a video topic, and analysis, about Ariana DeBose's post Oscar career? If you don't mind?
@malcolmwhite6204Most of these MCU stars are hitting the sort of rough patch 80s actions heroes encountered, once The 90s rolled around
@pukeachuEmily Blunt sucks!
Can't stand her, she is so fake.
Same face for every scene!
No range at all!!!
No, man. Just no. Marvel didn't do him dirty. Marvel made him rich and famous. If he failed or succeeded afterwards and whatever he is going to do next, it's all on him.
@thiagopiresleiteIt's not failed but needs to be tweaked and overhauled
@CadillacDeville7244So Chris Evans = not #1 option on a basketball team? 🥖🥑🍰💐💵
@yeulakho6574Chris Evans's symbolism rose during the "hopeful" Obama years as the unironic moral center of the universe when America was quietly yearning for a man like him to be in charge.
@aphillyate1I strongly believe young actors should avoid playing superhero character too early in their career comic character Has ruined a lot of good actors it worked for RDJ because he was already an established actor and old the mcu ruined Brie Larson career who was once an Oscar winner she could have easily get more nominations or more awards if she didn’t join the mcu
@stellamomoh99931All these videos about actors falling is hilarious. No one stays on top forever!! You do your time and leave. That's it.
@JudDanielWow. I was waiting for a video about Chris Evan's failed post MCU film career. Sadly, Chris didn't have much of a film career prior to the MCU, and he was in a few very good films in his pre- MCU career. The MCU made Chris very wealthy, but that's all. Smh
@liesdamnliesandstatsweird1934The same thing could be said about tom welling from smallville, Stephen Amell from Arrow, grant Gustin from flash, sarah Michelle gellar from buffy. IJS
@abdurrachmanmikhail-h8nI was done with him when he called the audience "idiots" and "dinosaurs" when his movie Lightyear flopped. So sick of actors name calling and contempt for the paying customers. We don't need Chris Evans, he needs US!!
@michelleyoung731The perfect romance hero the perfect spy hero, great action hero, great possibility of playing a new super hero he cannot play any other role you say?
@akiaki162Sounds like him and DeArmas shouldn't do movies together anymore
@96eddieb
