I completely understand the album better in the background part. I’ve felt that many times with albums

When i was first listened to tpab i was for some reason like. “J cole was prob right people were probably gassing this up” but those vocals and sounds were great

I watched your videos in 2011/2012 in college when I was thinking about doing reviews but was too scared to get started. This is still super helpful in 2026. a lot of ppl do this, but there isn't a lot of info re: how to approach it like a skill and how to become an effective listener. sooo if anyone has recommendations on tools about how to learn to identify/describe technical aspects of music such as production elements, song structure, esp for someone who loves music but doesn't have a musical background, that would be helpful too. Trying to not just say "oh this is fireee" lol i want to learn how to describe what i'm hearing better.

How I listen to an Album:
1. Listening it for the first time
2. Seeing theneedledrop review about it
3. Hating on Fantano if he doesn't like it, forgetting that it's just his opinioon
4. Regretting.

Another band from South Africa that might tickle your fancy, a pair of Alt Rock girls "The SoapGirls", four albums in and touring like crazy, their music and message is another worth a listen

2. Hear people talk about how good/bad it it’s.
3. Listen to it again
4. Give same opinion slightly different.
