How Google Tracks Everything You Do and How to Stop It

Video Overview & Insights

Google logged nearly 24,000 interactions with me in a single month.

>knows everything and could probably track you down to the centimeter
>still asks if you're a robot

โ€” @iapetusapoapsis342

Every search. Every map route. Every YouTube video. Every document edit. Every app download.

In this video, we'll break down the real machinery behind Googleโ€™s tracking empire, including the hidden systems most people never hear about. Not just personalized ads, but ad auctions that broadcast your location and identity data hundreds of times a day, government requests that can access account metadata without a warrant, and the growing role AI plays in turning your emails, searches, photos, and documents into training material.

Google tracking

โ€” @dabig_guy2204

We'll walk through six major Google services and show exactly what each one collects, why Google wants it, and where that information can ultimately end up.

We also cover practical steps you can take right now to reduce what Google collects, including privacy settings, auto delete tools, alternative services, and the tradeoffs that come with trying to reclaim some privacy online.

When does your browser come out?

โ€” @Veritasexpanse

Google became the infrastructure of the modern internet, and much of that infrastructure is designed to watch you.

So what is your data worth to Google? Find out: https://proton.me/blog/what-is-your-data-worth-to-google

I give a shit about it๐Ÿ˜…. From decades company's are gathering our data ,nothing new. And I still live my life ,just sometimes some strange number is calling to me ๐Ÿ˜….

I go typically go onto incognito mode whenever i do a google search. I am aware that does practically nothing, but whatever. Recently, they have started to make me do a captcha EVERY TIME i do an incognito search, as if it is to reroute me back to normal mode, or just to track the slightest bit more data. It is honestly really annoying and i blamed it on my bad internet but i dont think that is what is going on here

i will never understand this idea of someone (big techs) collecting data is seeing like something evil or wrong. you use terms as โ€œspyโ€ as โ€œsurveillanceโ€โ€ฆ.
whereโ€™s the evil in this??
they track our information so they can suggest advertising on things we are interested to, they can suggest video on topics we are interestered to, they can offer us a better service!
where is the evil?? where is the wrong??
they know how many time i enterd youtube; they know what videos i watched; they know how many time i entered google and what do i search on it; they know how many emails iโ€™ve send, and to whoโ€ฆ
so whaaaaattt?? WHERE IS THE EVIL??
they use my information to train their AI modelsโ€ฆ
so?? so AI can improve even more and can give me and everyone else better service!!! ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
you are so focused in searching evil everywhere that youโ€™re not even distinguish anymore if something is made FOR us, or AGAINST us!!! ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Apple is Pride.

Alphabet/Google is Gluttony.
Meta is Lust.
Amazon is Greed.

You're welcome

@gjallarhorn456
@

nobody talks about this, but every photo you take is analyzed for content so they can send you ads. right from your camera, not even just when you upload it to the cloud or whatever

@23YYZ

The war paranoia ( justified ) the military race that , can t stop . Its a vicious cercle without END ! The A.I become the center of human intelligence futur , and many peoples will says YES to IT ! ... I don t know how to stop IT ? It s like a slow tsunami comming to us .

@pierrebrunet2284

Thatโ€™s why I switched to Proton Mail. I also use VPN and I donโ€™t mind paying for privacy.

I couldnt find a single example of what to turn off in the google settings. you didnt tell us where to go, you didnt tell us what section its in. I type in verbatim "improve search suggestions" or "search suggestions" or "search" and literally cant find anything like what you show on your screen.

Whats the point of making a video like this if we cant even do what youre telling us to do?

@DrummerJacob
@

You can click that stuff off in settings but Google ignores that and continues to track it.

Just turning things on/off and a few checkboxes won't do nothing.

We need a decent YouTube competitor, everything else can be replaced. There must be an alternative to Google Analytics to do stats.

I spy back. They dont post a hardware announcement without hearing from me. They remotely disabled my hardware so I remind potential buyers every time they post anything

@weegeeweeg

Google's algorithm must be faulty because it thinks I'll be fooled by scam ads, judging by the number I'm shown on YouTube anyway.

Iโ€™m convinced that these types of videos are for criminals and Americans, who are seemingly programmed to be paranoid. Turning off these options will not stop surveillance. Time and time again, companies are being found out for still stalking users despite disabling settings. Follow the laws and youโ€™ll be fine.

What if Google wants me to watch this video and recommend me

@gohulakrishnan1805

Two points. Many people blab personal stuff on public sites. We've had targeted ads for a hundred years. Plus, Google provides way more productive freebies than Apple, Microsoft and IBM combined. Relax.
