I've recently taking a liking to horse racing, like many others in the comment section, because of Uma musume, but I've been looking at their irl horses and their Wikipedias and it's all so interesting, and as someone who hardly knows the basics, this was an amazing introduction into it, it was easy to understand and follow, and was kept short and simple, this is truly a peak tutorial, love the work 🔥 (I subscribed too!!)

Very nice video
You may see the occasional crazy horse race on horse racing documentaries where a jockey gets ride of the month for winning a horse race when going up in grade. Understanding horse racing classifications are directly related to this. Hayley Moore at the races presenter often talks about horse racing jockeys involvement in the races which can be eye-opening.

Yet again I've learned a few tricks from Caan The Man.
@2020onwardsNice one! What about a video on how horses are handicapped? Please
@ahassaySo caan your betting strategy is betting on big odds and find a market that happen at least 40- 50 percent of the time? I've been losing since 2017
@z4musiqNot to be picky but Flat turf racing is from March which has been usually the Lincoln Handicap meeting until November which is the Doncaster November handicap meeting. The clue is in the name...National Hunt is now virtually run throughout the year with summer jumping...The all weather intermingles throughout most of the year now as well with the majority being in the Winter Months..:)
@ianleigh5157I wouldn't strictly say that 0-70, only 3yo handicaps are for low-quality horses. I don't want to overcomplicate things, but there are decent horses in these races that are improving and go through the handicap route as opposed to the novice stakes route, where they carry a penalty for winning a race. If the race is a 0-70 for older horses, then yes, most of them have reached the ceiling of their ability.
@billybhoy32Thanks for this Caan. So many choices of ways to lose one's money! LOL
Now, is it me, or can I see some Silver hairs appearing in your beard young man? As someone who has a near totally Silver beard, may I just say that I feel that Silver on a man looks most distinguished! ;-)
One of the horses was rated 72 in a 0-70 why is that?
@grahambeyer6254Lower the class number the better the race
@lemmy74Handy info, thanks caan
@forgedsparxGood video, you mentioned a few definition specifics I wasn't aware of and I bet on horses every day.
