Jeez Ted Danson you are one of the best interviewers I've ever seen. This is no Oh another celeb gets a podcast, this is a a legendary actor discovers a whole new skill. If acting hadn't worked out for you, you could have easily had an interviewer career. Pretty cool to see. And this one in particular was so fun with you two peas in a pod. I absolutely remember the massive avalanche of fame the Fonz had, I've tried to tell younger people who are clueless about it. I can imagine some young person loving Henry from just seeing Barry. And have no idea who he was. And then for them to find out the huge story of the Fonz would really blow their mind. I can't think of another TV show character who was bigger. Cheers as a show was a similar phenomenon, but it was the whole show, whereas for Henry it was his character. Of course Happy Days was a huge show, but not as big as the Fonz. And of course Sam was a huge character but better it was your whole show since that's the kind of show it was.

You are two peas in a pod in regards to two guys who were the coolest most handsome men of an era, and yet you're both so lovingly human in having anxiety and self esteem issues...it shows what good actors you were to cover all that up. You would think being the major leading man star of an era would be enough to keep you afloat for life...it's good for all of us to see, nope, that's not it.

ABOUT WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME

Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson are total opposites with an unbreakable bond since meeting on the hit sitcom “Cheers.” But after that show wrapped, life took them in different directions, and they missed each other. This podcast is a chance to reconnect, both with each other and the amazing friends they’ve each met over the decades, like Will Arnett, Dax Shepard, Jane Fonda, Mary Steenburgen, José Andrés, Conan O'Brien, and more - that is, when Ted can get a hold of Woody! Join them as they dig beyond the career highlights and into the stuff of life that makes us who we are. Like the title says, this is a place to be known.

infantalising africans and praising lack of civility is gross

ABOUT TEAM COCO

I worked(ADR looping) in Henry's film "Cop and 1/2" 24yrs. ago. He's a very thoughtful friendly guy. He told us lots of war stories. Through out the years, I run into him and he's just as kind. A class act.

I’d like to know about the 1980 movie NIGHT SHIFT where Henry started with Michael Keaton on his movie debut. That conversation would surely generate a laugh or two…

How sad that Jed's father was so insecure he didn't want Henry to call him his son. You help raise a child, from the age of 4, you are a parental figure. The only thing that should come out of your mouth is Thank You.

For me, it's a tough call as to if the Fonz or Sam Malone was the bigger star. I think partly because the Fonz was cool when I was in grade school and by the time I was in High School I had long ago retired my Fonzy lunch box and he had lost some of coolness mostly because I associated that with character with my younger self. But now I can see what a wonderful human being Henry Winkley truly is.

I loved these guys growing up. I was a child pretending to be Fonzi & a Jedi, but as a ya I loved Sam Malone & Cheers. Im so grateful for those shows, those characters and Im so grateful theyre such amazingly kind people. Nobody today could be as big as those guys were back then and they didnt become total jerks

Good show. Two things --- around the 25-minute mark, Mr. Danson talks about a rough patch when he felt the need to save some money and let his lawyer go... well, then Mr. Winkler does what a friend does. He tries to help his friend forgive himself, perhaps feel better. That's a friend. Very moving. Spending a significant portion of my life with these two gentlemen and seeing a familiar friend's gesture to a friend... got to me. The other comment is the hilarious encounter with Mr. Deniro. At the end of the story, after Mr. Winkler drops his phone, he says he just wishes he could "have a scene" with Mr. D. Well, that was it, Mr. Winkler! Couldn't hope for a better scene partner. And the best part for us'all out here? We are so familiar with both of you, that we can see that scene in our mind's eye.
As I say, good show.

I loved Fonzie, serious fan crush, but when I fell in love with Henry Winkler was when I went to see Heroes. Laughed, cried, and began to understand what had happened to so many of our young men who went off to war.

Thank you, Henry!

Henry Winkler is such an interesting.character. Universally known as a genuinely nice guy. If I were the Fonz, I would have been dead by 40 years old.

Henry wore a windbreaker as The Fonz for the first season or so of Happy Days. America wasn't thought to be ready for a hood on a motorcycle sporting a leather jacket.

0:01 They, the cheer leaders, called me the Fonz in high school, because of the black, leather jacket I always wore. Got my butt kicked in wrestling, just like Danny Zuko from Grease.
Uncle Jessie from Full House also wore a black, leather jacket (mandella effect? He DID wear a black, leather jacket, right?) and I wanted to be, or look, as cool as him; all you guys. Role models. What kind of role model do I want to be?
