He Left Florida for Thailand: Tour His $495/Month Condo
Video Overview & Insights
Walker moved to Bangkok in 2025 after living in Chiang Mai, Japan, and Macedonia.
His fan stopped working hope it didn't break lol
In this video, we tour his $495/month condo and discuss the lessons he's learned, including the biggest mistakes future expats should avoid before moving to Thailand.
Condo: Centric Ari Station
So was full of Australians?? That's a flippant comment.
Why! name a country when obviously it was not full of Australians. I've never seen a whole Condo complex and pool full of Aussie's in Bangkok. Seen more US being American than Aussie.
He does not say where he is originally from! So maybe Macedonia originally.

We stayed in Ari for one month last year. Absolutely loved it! Definitely an area Iβd consider moving to.

The Ari Neighborhood 1:44
It seems a shame that the mom pop businesses are gone and newer spots open. But I'm wondering about cost. Are the new place more expensive and have they change the target customers?

He must have a very sensitive nose with his obsession over smells.

seeing the neighborhood tour is really nice. You live in the neighborhood as much as the building as much as the unit.

I moved in the same building a year ago and I have to agree in general. Its a really nice building for that price and everything is taken care off via the app. I pay like 80$ more for a few extra square meters - so it doesn't look as narrow on my end.
Other than its pretty much the same. High floor and pretty much private outdoor area that nobody uses.
Sad I missed you Cal, would have liked to say Hi. Always like your videos to stay up to date.

βπ¦πΊβ¦ This year was one of the most challenging markets I've ever experienced, and I realized that trying to predict every price movement only led to poor decisions. After learning Erik Bencomo's structured day trading approach, I became much more disciplined and patient, focusing on following a proven plan instead of trading emotionally. By consistently implementing this process, I was able to grow my portfolio to 4.3 BTC, even during the bear market............

Does he need to be in BKK? Could get a lot more elsewhere. OTOH, he needs a little space as he's a big lad.

Walker - Nice condo. Do you have a good book writing software you can recommend? I'm shopping for one now. My current software is no longer supported with updates. I primarily write fiction/military fiction.
Thanks.

A top tip.
Take a picture of the colour of the paint.
Go to a paint shop, show them the picture of the pain you want.
200 to 300 baht for the paint, 50 baht for a brush.
Take it home and paint over any marks on the walls.
Job done.

A cool dude and hope he does well.
@michaelorfanos7416Very smart guy I can tellππ½
@petey6716So funny that you mentioned how you dress in Puerto Rico they judge you as well if you wear a T-shirt shorts and flip-flops itβs kinda like look down at when you wear a collar shirt and pants. Itβs OK. And me that I live in New York City itβs like we donβt care.
@petey6716I like his priorities, like somehow near public transport, some walking opportunities and all. Still I can't imagine living in a condo because I've always lived in a house in my life with at least a little bit of garden.
@PandS-KFinal thought: Instead of buying black-out curtains, just buy one of the eye masks which are sold everywhere in different styles -- the kind you get on long-haul flights.
@mt-ye3wbLOVED the book convo
@Lil33bitCan you Zelle your rent?
Tiny Horse.
Wdym you can just pay the old price on tao bin machines?? π
@RoritchiCal, thank you for showing what you can get at the lower end for a condo. I don't want to spend $2,000 (I could stay in the states) but 30 sq m is too small (I'm 6-4). It is also really interesting to hear the comments on how you dress. I am not sure I heard that in your videos before. I was planning on wearing tshirts and shorts but now I am going to have to plan on a lot of casual collared shirts. Is a collar shirt and shorts OK or do you really need to go with long pants? How do you do that in the heat?
I can definitely see this guy working for the State Dept or a 3 letter agency ;)
Can't handle those shoe box rectangles they call Condos
@Shibari-Onithis guy is an excellent interview and provides some very valuable real world insights.

@sheiladikshit5110lbh what a messed up thing.
@sheiladikshit5110Ben and Thailand many years and already used to the humidity even though it's brutal and How does the humidity in Florida compared to thailand. I'm from California so I got it made no humidity only Delta Breeze coming from San Diego
@jimbrown2485This is a very tiny condo. I wouldn't rent it even for 10K. One can easily get a much larger 35-40 sqm condo at Lumpini 77 in the On nut area, with better pricing and spacious floor plans.
@AshK-AILove you Cal my #1 hero
@PoprocksPpThis guy seems to have his act together.
My only caveat would be this:
If you intend to live in the tropics for an extended period, then the smoothest experience would be to adopt the local practices (e.g., eating local for most/all meals, etc.) and not relying on air conditioning.
In Bangkok, a good fan should provide enough cooling in most situations, day or night.
It's kind of odd caring about shopping malls so much ... we don't need to be buying clothes more than twice a year ... maybe even less some.
@darrenrobichaud7801That condo is a walk in-walk out. I wouldnβt care if the price was 10K; thatβs more a jail cell than a home.
@neilm2794Looks like a nice size a mirrored wall behind the couch would make it feel much bigger giving you the illusion of being bigger. Sorry no help for the kitchen π
@monicab4536For Walker: Just get a Magic Eraser for the wall scuffs, and get a bathroom suction cup style little shelf for the mirror in the bathroom to hold your bathroom things. π€π»
@blakelosangelesa lot of insight for sure. im going to bkk next month and will keep a lot of what you discussed in mind. interesting discussion about hownyou dress too. i definitelt felt it in japan and korea, but kinda surprised its also there
@CoralEuphoriaThis guy doesnβt know what a hipster is
@Vbguy2467okay why do i suddenly see Vera Hartβs archetype quiz everywhere. People are being weirdly specific about their results too. Might actually have to see what mine says.
@prs_09c3eaEveryone keeps mentioning their βtypeβ from Vera Hartβs archetype quiz like Iβm supposed to know what that means. Is there a list of all the archetypes somewhere? I feel left out now.π
@DIY-Art-AdventuresWalker kept reminding me so much of a younger days Shane McMahon.
