Grow Broccoli Microgreens Without Soil on Silicone Reusable Medium
Video Overview & Insights
π± Want to grow microgreens without soil and without the mess? In this video, we show you how to grow Broccoli microgreens using our Silicone Reusable Grow Medium β no soil, no coco coir, and no disposable mats to keep buying. This method works great for all brassica seeds including Purple Kohlrabi, Brussels Sprouts, and salad mixes. We walk you through the entire process from seeding to harvest, plus how to clean the medium and remove roots after harvesting.
Your video is the best on youtube!! I've seen tons of videos where people leave out important information, overcomplicate things or oversimplify. Your video was easy to follow informative and perfect length! I wish I could afford your awesome trays and kit!! I'm going to start up my microgreens business too.
Here's what we cover:
β How to grow Broccoli microgreens on a silicone reusable grow medium β full walkthrough
Donβt you need to soak the broccoli seeds for 6-8 hrs with water before microbreeding? Coz thatβs what I saw from some content creators. So now Iβm confused .
β Why we switched from coco coir to reusable mediums (cleaner, cheaper long-term)
β How silicone and stainless-steel mediums pay for themselves in just 5-10 grows
What prophylactic spray are you using?
β Watering techniques and care tips for getting beautiful results on reusable mediums
β How to clean the medium and remove roots after harvest
I find not wetting the silicone before made it easier to more evenly spread the seeds around.
β Applying this method to other brassica seeds like Kohlrabi, Brussels Sprouts, and salad mixes
After our break from YouTube, we fully embraced reusable mediums for their convenience and cost savings. Coco coir still works great, but it's messy and expensive to keep replenishing. Our silicone and stainless-steel mediums have been a game changer β cleaner planting, cleaner harvesting, and they last indefinitely.
What is the ratio on the fertilizer? I also have 12% FGrade peroxide and would like to know the ratio

I'm still trying to learn! I like how your product seems to work and am considering buying your products. My hubby has cancer and I think this will help him. However, I'm still trying to figure out a couple of things. 1) Can I put the sprouts outside in sunlight instead of using a grow light? I really don't have a place for a growlight space. 2) Is there more I can learn about preventing mold? I'm not sure I understand this yet. TY

I have two questions. First, you presented several types of nutrients that differ in terms of the proportions of major elements. Do microgreens need high proportions like master blends? Second, which media is best for growing microgreens?

I use lot H2O2 food grade, it make tray sterilized and seed grow fast.
@BrancaaliceRoots on my microgreens grown on silicone are growing but looks like a fungus on them. Help!
@patriciamillar5496Can you just pull the microgreens out and eat the entire thing, rather than cutting?
@BritbeinghumanHow you grow them without having mold. So nice microgreens
@ChaotafarmCurious to know why you utilise a nutrient solution - my understanding with plants biology is that the possess enough 'energy' within the the seed itself to generate growth up until the first set of 'true leaves'. Considering a 'microgreen' by definition is harvested with only the cotyledon leaves, I am at a loss in understanding the nutrient requirements.
@davidkirby27Thanks for the video. Would you please tell me how much sprout can be produced out of 1 kl of broccoli seeds?

@gailzharvHello, I can see the difference in the weight you put on the black no hole tray. Is it because of the grow medium vs cocopeat? What is the science behind the weights on top? And help on this topic would be highly appreciated. Thank you Sahil
@pariks141288Completey off vid topic but a question for sunflower microgreens⦠is it recommended to remove seed hulls that have tiny weevil holes in them or can i leave em in and expect them not to grow? I ask because i ordered a lot of sunflower seeds from both True Leaf market and a microgreens tik toker in different times and like a BIGGGGG ratio of them like every 2 seeds theres one or two with tiny bug holes in them. Thats a lot. And i dont want to spend an hr picking out every seed with a hole in it which is like almost every other seed. Hopefully yall see this which is the reason I commented on ur most recent vids lol. Anyways thx for yalls content for sure yall have been my reference point since i started growing
@_n0madxCan you do a video on the top 5 underrated microgreens? Your videos are amazing and I fell down a rabbit hole. I enjoyed you growing things like Chia, but didnβt seem like it was your favorite. Most YT content on MGS are all sunflower, radish, broccoli, and peas. I want to know what else is out there. Thanks again for all the great content.
