I just don't understand why they wrote he got married to Jo and after when she said I'm giving you an out, he didn't take it. Then he just leaves I think that was weird.

Name another television character who had more growth, and I mean believable growth, than Alex Karev. That is an honest question: Is there another character on any other TV show ever who showed that much character development? and then they go and mess it up like that? Seriously?

Up till the letters i really thought he was with his sister or brother even. The thought of another woman or left never even crossed my mind. Doesn't even make "intentional" cinematic drama sense

I loved Alex's final episode. He got his happily ever after, which he deserved, and it was a beautiful tribute to him! It's one of my favorite episodes.😊

He could have left to take care of his actual family not Izzies bullshit of having his kids without his knowledge and leaving notes just like Izzie did when she first left him

It's not the ending that people don't like It's the abruptness and lazy writing.
Why couldn't he come back and they could write a proper, gradual exit?
They could even bring back Izzie for a big emotional goodbye.

They could have just made Alex and Jo move together to where his kids are and share custody so the kids could have both parents (Alex and Izzie) and then Alex and Jo would stay together but no, they really choose for Alex to downgrade all of his process in being a better person by abandoning Jo.

Yes, I want to see Alex on the series.

I don’t know if I want Alex back, the timing was really bad, just as .Jo gets out of the psych only To lose her husband to Izzy, I loved Izzy most of the time, but if she moved into my house and says in front of Bailey who knew, but Izzy didn’t know that m, and when George took advantage of Mer, she was on his side…I’d have kicked her ass out, you blew the cardinal rule…never talk about what happens at the house you share with Mer who’s house it is, yep OUT FOR IZZY, sorry I’m, but you forgot yourself a few times….plus Jo gave him plenty of opportunities for him to call Izzy and see how she’s doing…he said he knew how she was doing , smiles always smiling, house smells like muffins and Christmas ornaments all year round because she won’t let her husband take them down…remember ? So they should have killed him off as if that’s the only way he would leave Jo.
Those are my thoughts about Alex coming back. 😳😱

Let's make one thing clear: Whatever show finale or character goodbye we are talking about, it might be controversial, and there's always going to be people who don't like it. But please don't EVER bring in Game of Thrones as an example of that. It's canonical consens that the GoT finale was a historic screw up. The same way nobody would call "The Room" great filmmaking, nobody would call that final season a good ending. That one is not even a little bit controversial.

They undone his entire character development with his exit. No way realistically he would have ever left Jo like that, he knows her abandonment issues. But to also make him a coward to leave her and Mer like that after the growth they gave him…It also makes no sense cos he doesnt show up when Meredith gets covid and almost dies. Alex would have been at her side day and night.

Bring him back he is the reason why I fell in love with him

Greys ended for me in Season 9. I’ve watched it thru once and keep up on new episodes but I’ve started it over 4 times and always stop after Season 9, Episode 2. Once Lexie and Mark left I just stopped enjoying it as much. 🤷🏻‍♀️

At least he was not killed in the show. I’m just sad that he was not even seen in that episode. I wish they showed some frames of him and Izzie with the twins.

Many many problems , 1. they have rammed the queer angle down our throats 2. Meredith Grey became a very unlikeable character and the poor script and stupid story lines, we had Alex beat DeLuca, a surgeon to near death and nobody wanting to hold Alex responsible, but Jo threatens a patient who gives a Kidney to his son, and keeping his wife a live, just because the husband may have hit the wife, that is a powerful message to send out, its OKAY for violence against men and condemn the victim for pressing charges.......

I just watched it. I was a Mess. An absolute Mess. I've been binge watching this the past year or so and my heart's shattered. I don't know how people handled this. I'm truly heart broken.

The writers were trash on that episode, just watched it for the first time and wow. So bad I’m like Alex will never do that😭😭

After Alex left I stoped watching the show I think could have ended and that would be ok

The show started of with Meredith, Alex, George, Christina and Izzie. And now it’s just Meredith left. Alex’s ending could’ve been handled better.

They had to divide the season ( CoVid) and JUstin wanted to leave at the end of the year. I thought the writers did a fantastic job !

I love Jo and Alex especially Jo but Alex should be able to be with who he wants to be with the heart wants what it wants Izzy will always be his soulmate I mean the way he left was wrong I wish he would have talked to everyone first but I am glad he is happy with the person he is in love with plus maybe Jo will find someone who is in love with her and only her

I personally think it was good for him, we can’t be selfish and keep the actors on screen whilst going through so much. Justin was on the show for so long, I’m thankful he didn’t leave so soon.

Miscarriage of Miranda Bailey was one thing, but this??? This is insulting. They made Alex Karev start as a f boy and made him exit an a f boy with fcking indecisiveness, top it with pizza sushi.

Why couldn’t Alex have gone to another country to preform a trial of surgeries that he was qualified for but the country or hospital couldn’t afford such procedures so he did it very cheap out of love of children & being a doctor. Or I know it’s fucked up taken away jos role. Because she needs a job but honestly they could’ve just both moved away together. This made me so mad

Personally I wouldve had a social worker come to grey sloan telling him about his kids ( Alex unknowingly in shock about his kids & avoiding mer & his wife ) and for the next few episodes they show him getting to know his kids & what happened to izzie. Then to be fair to his kids & not uproot them, he moves there & has jo's blessing to divorce/separate to be there for izzie's last days & to be there for his kids.

The way this happened ruined greys. I haven’t watched it since. What is the point in building up a character and creating such a happy life for him if he’s just gonna disappear

I love the idea of him going to be with izzy. I adored Jo and Alex but the way he felt about Izzy was so magical and it makes sense for him to want to be with her once she finds out about their kids.

People should let him move on! 💖 With nothing but good wishes.
