****PRINT RECIPE WITH INSTRUCTIONS AND PROCESS SHOTS****

If you want this recipe to turn out right the first time and your potatoes cooked all the way through and soft... Cut your potatoes into four or six pieces first and boil them for about 15 to 20 minutes. If you like the skin like I do just leave them on oh yeah and cook them in chicken broth person get low sodium. When you put them in the bottom of the pan it's really not a need to season them up but like the chef says you can put a little bit on your potatoes and slightly marinate them in the bottom of the pan. After placing your marinated chicken on top of the potatoes sprinkle them what's some extra Italian seasoning and or oregano and use some smoked paprika on top for coloring and a little extra flavor kick. I cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil and leave them in the oven and don't touch them at a temperature 365°. I tightly packed 8 small to medium chicken thighs on top and they come out juicy. Believe it or not you really won't have to cook them with the broiler unless you want it extra crispy... If you use the broiler you're only need an extra 5 minutes. His ingredients are excellent. 🎉

INGREDIENTS

I like the fact that you are so chill and make cooking looks easy and fun.

— @tokaalolabi

For the marinade

8 cloves garlic

No honey, for me, meat is not meant to have sugar 😅

— @MicheleLawrence-f5r

3/4 cup (180ml) olive oil

1/2 cup (120ml) lemon juice

Made this for dinner tonight. I was worried about the potatoes after reading many of the comments. So, I heated the oven to 400 degrees, cooked the schbang for 20 minutes. Lowered the oven to 375 degrees and cooked for 1 hour. I checked after 30 mins and the potatoes were done, but the chicken needed another 15 mins. EXCELLENT!!!!

— @kkacz7783

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon honey

Keep the tiny, dark curled end on the green bean. It is where most of the vitamins and minerals are located.

— @jaquelinebiggs3394

1 tablespoon Greek dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried thyme

I love this dish so much. I make it often.

— @nancydevine7028

2 teaspoons fine sea salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

No music, quick chopping, and your son's opinion. Perfect video.

— @LunarDuchess

Remaining ingredients

8 large chicken thighs - overlapping skin trimmed

I don't know what I did wrong but my marinade looks more like salad dressing than the creamy version in the video. I checked and double-checked the measurements and didn't forget anything.

— @gigia41

5 medium Yukon Gold potatoes - peeled, cut into large chunks, and soaked in water then dried

1 sprig fresh oregano - optional, for garnish

3 minutes and still 15 to go....... no way - bye bye

— @janlyngdam6162

5 slices lemon - optional, for garnish

VIDEO EDITOR:

There's a difference between talking when making a video & prattling on about totally irrelevant, obscure topics!! You TALK to us like adults/peers (NOT running on at the mouth, lecturing, or prattling for the sake of hearing your own voice), & I appreciate the quiet, relevant, respectful conversation!! You give us encouragement, confidence & permission to adjust to suit our tastes!! Respect for the viewer permeates your videos!! The fact that when we come in, you already have all the ingredients assembled & usually all of the prep work has been done, so a video contains all the important aspects of cooking, w/out suffering through watching someone cutting up potatoes, onions, carrots, peppers, etc. as if you have all the time in the world!! You stick to the topic at hand & give valuable tips about the importance/benefits of certain decisions like the cut of meats & the ingredients that can be left out or changed up. I feel as if I'm spending time w/a cherished, knowledgeable friend!! I LOVE James' as the taste tester; his sincerity is palpable & since he isn't involved in the cooking process, he's more believable than any cook touting their own creation.

I apologize for going on & on!! I'm frustrated for having just finished watching another channel's 33-minute video for a 10-minute potato soup, where she prattles on about her fingernails & other things we TOTALLY DON'T NEED/WANT TO KNOW, & then halfway through her recipe for the soup, she suddenly decides to start prepping a pumpkin for some other recipe, which she ALSO doesn't finish!!

I know some will say that has nothing to do w/"SipandFeast," but it DOES!! By comparison, it makes me realize how professional, yet considerate you are, & how careful you are to produce a good video that provides value to your viewers & delivers what you promise!! Keep up the good work!!

I dont have a small blender, I use my Vitamix and the marinate does not come out totally blended and it is chunky with garlic. Any suggestions?

@elaynashakur6434

I keep looking for make-ahead-meals.... so no prep occurs on the day of serving. Everything to be done the day before and at the most, just throw into oven on the day so host is not in the kitchen except to put all on the table.

Can I use both chicken breasts and thighs?

Love that kid lol

How do a few thin slices of lemon on top of the finished dish make this lemon chicken?? My neighbour in Athens used to cook this dish every week, and squeezed lemon over both the chicken and the (unpeeled) potato wedges!?

@MariaWerner-r7j4y
@

I played this at double speed 😊 That way it’s the length of a normal cooking video. There’s no need to peel those beautiful, thin skinned potatoes! 😮 Just brush them under running water!

@MariaWerner-r7j4y
@

Could you please give the temperatures in Celsius measues? Have in mind you’re watched also by non-Americans. Thank you

Boneless don't got no flavor.

I subscribed as you kept saying if you don’t want then okay don’t and gave option after option and you browned the garlic
That’s how garlic is used

@behuman3801
@

Just use a wedge of potato from the pan to scrape the remaining marinade from the bowl, don't waste a drop of that sauce!

@R2D888

So glad I’m not the only one who winds up with “woody” chicken breasts—I thought I was clueless!

@LalaDee6251

What changes would you make to cook breasts? Hubby refuses to eat thighs. 😢

I bought your beautiful book. My only comment is that all the recipes are for 4 to 6 people. I live alone and no longer entertain. Certainly, I can cut the recipes or can save the ingredients for another time. Maybe one day you can do a cookbook for single people. I wish you lots of sales. Showed it to my neighbor and she's buying it too. Jane, Piladelphia

Thank you so much James , your lemon fast receipt is amazing!
My increasingly thin daughter hasn't been eating my healthy meals as readily as she used to when she was little... When she back home today, she said, "I just had curry chicken from Dad home,so I won't eat any more chicken..." But she ended up eating two large chicken drumsticks and many potatoes!

This is the biggest encouragement for my occasional efforts! [heart][hug][rose]

She even mumbled "I don't want to eat" as she walked downstairs... but when she saw the golden food, her eyes widened and she exclaimed, "Wow, this is too good!" After finishing two bowls of chicken, potatoes, and vegetables, she sneaked a few more pieces of roasted potato on the way, saying, "Yammy~" Luckily, I went to store twice,to gather four chicken drumsticks [winking face], otherwise I wouldn't have had a chance to enjoy the delicious!

I just made this just now. I parboiled the potato for 5 minutes and they cooked the same time with the chicken. It’s soft and tender. Yum! Thank you
