1:21:08 Ayyyyy we got Graham Hill with a line, so many drivers in that scene, huge shame we lost alot of them in crashes in years following this movie

— @parasaurlol21

sacked from his Jordan-BRM team.

Starring: James Garner, Eva Marie Saint, Yves Montand

I saw this movie in theater when I was 8 years old, still one of my favorites!!!

Been bothering me for a while, what's the deal with Pete's gearbox in the beginning? Was it really faulty, or was he misshifting on purpose?

James Garner was actually injured filming the race at Brands Hatch. At the end of the race, when his car was on fire, he was trying to get out when a ball of fire came up in his face. He gat a 2nd degree burn on his neck from it. You can see the actual burn later in the film.

Yves Montand, hadn't even driven a road car before this movie. In the close shots in the car, he was being towed by a a truck. didn't even know how to drive a road car

Thank you for putting this wonderful movie, Grand Prix, on YT. I did notice that about the first 2 minutes of this film are missing which includes the first part of the amazing title sequence by Saul Bass. For those interested, you can find it on YT if you search for Grand Prix title sequence Saul Bass.

The bravest men were the cameramen strapped to the cars. My dad would know, he was one of them.

They seriously discussed opening up the high banking at Monza in 2019,then COVID 19 hit in 2020. That would be a great race, considering the way cars are built in the 21 century regs.

L'histoire est un peu nulle, mais les images des grand prix sont phénoménales, on se demande comment ils ont pu les tourner, et quelques super surprises comme la musique de Paris brûle t-il et Françoise Hardy en Actrice.

The ending with the mistress wailing while paparazzi take pics of her meltdown is heartbreaking. She's seeing exactly what he described. That circus cares not for lives but the spectacle itself.

The Monza banking shots are unreal..............and consider the banks were eliminated from the circuit after the 1961 season and as a result had to re-create this in 1966.

60's GP racing
When safety was putting your blood type on your bracelet
When the only downforce was generated by the peak of your helmet
When old men still had purpose
When people knew how to dance
One of the most under rated movies ever.
The dance scene and that smile after Nino says "and you can go to hell" 😅
