"That looks like a dumpster fire, you doughnut!"
Yields 1 serving
Ingredients
Coming from the guy who puts cream in carbonara. Stick to fish and chips.
8-12 each 16/20 peeled, deveined shrimp
4 oz dry capellini / angelhair pasta
Oil in pasta water? It's a waste of the oil.
2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive oil
3 each garlic bulbs
It’s just too much.
1 each large shallot, small diced
2 tsp chili flakes
Thanks for valuable tips to improve my dinner preps
2 each lemons
¼ cup white wine
Take out tomato skins.
2 Tbsp capers
½ Cup cherry tomatoes, halved
“It raw”
½ Cup seafood stock
2 oz butter, cubed
Such an old outdated wrong technique - you need to save some pasta water to use in the sauce too
1 parmesan cheese wedge
1 sprig basil, picked
Arrgghhh NOT Oil in pasta water but definitely salt the water!
TT Salt and Fresh Cracked Black Pepper
Method
WRONG WRONG WRONG to put oil in pasta water!!! It’s anathema to any and all Italians AND chefs period who cook pasta! Arrrgghhh please upgrade your culinary education & technique
Add water to a 4 quart sauce pot. Salt liberally, cover with a lid bring to a boil.
Heat a medium nonstick sauté pan on medium heat with one tablespoon of olive oil. When hot add the shallots, finely grate the garlic bulbs into the pan and sauté for 2 minutes to soften them. Deglaze the pan with the white wine and cook until it is almost evaporated from the pan. Add the seafood stock, chilli flakes, capers, cherry tomatoes and lemons (zested and juiced). When the sauce comes to a simmer, season the raw shrimp with salt and pepper and poach in the liquid for about 1 minute per side. Add the cubed butter to melt. Taste and season the sauce accordingly.
한국어 자막 누가 깔았어ㅋㅋㅋ
Meanwhile, when the pot of water begins to boil, add the pasta and use tongs or a fork to gradually push it into the seasoned water as it starts to soften. Boil the pasta, stirring occasionally so it doesn’t stick together, for about 3-5 minutes, or until al dente. Strain the pasta and quickly add it to the pan with the scampi sauce and cooked shrimp. Toss the pasta in the sauce to coat evenly. Finally, tear the fresh basil leaves and toss into the pasta before plating.
Plate the cooked pasta into a medium size bowl with some height. Garnish with a grating of parmesan cheese.
Prawns.

fyi his olive oil is better than yours - his shrimps are better than yours - start with better ingredients than what you've been buying
@recoswellThis is actually a shockingly poor recipe by Gordon's standard. Oil in the water, you crazy? Oil on the pasta immediately after cooking, instead of letting the sauce of the pan coat it? Sauce won't stick to oily pasta. Cheese on shrimp? Stock instead of pasta water? No butter to emulsify at the end? Basil over parsley for sea food? Tiny pan for pasta water so your pasta ends up sticking to each other while boiling rather than a large amount of water where they're all free to boil seperately.. But who am I to question gordon lol, but this recipe is not good.
@stevenstone307Nobody in Italy mixes chicken broth with shrimp. No Parmesan either.
@CF-wp7xoShrimp scampi , its not an Italian dish.
More over, the name
Doesn't make any sense.
Scampi = prawns
Ganberetti = Shrimp
It is not bahsil, it's baysil (phonetic).
@EricCutrerIt is not passta, it's pahsta (phonetic).
@EricCutrerIt's not a shall lot, it's a shallot.

@joannef7569This guy uses so much oil in his cooking but says just a touch. Must be a British thing.
@stevenboyce6540Worst way to make any type of pasta dish
@aaroncohen6240Gordon Ramsay has a strange habit of over-using the word "literally." He used the word, "literally" 13 times in this 10 minute video.
@butch51947First step, go back in time and start water boiling so it doesn't count towards the ten minutes.
@DerpDevilDDTake a shot every time Gordon says, "Literally" and you'll be very drunk. I mean ... "Put the oil in the pan and it literally cooks ..." Yeah, cooking is what happens in pans. "Cook this for literally 30 seconds." Um, we get it. 30 seconds is literal. He says it at least 20 times in 10 minutes. Literally!
@bluxe7372Literally?
@TryingToFish69I want to eat dinner. Yum
@dogcat181a5Use another minute.Why not?
@dogcat181a5really impressive, not the food - I mean Gordon Ramsay going 10 minutes without using foul language.
@JohnPark-r3fliterally counter: broken
@pattochodorowski875This guy barely has a grasp on the English language. He mucked up the shrimp Like they were a stage prop.
@TommyDee-v4xDisgusting,too much oil,you’ll have the runs.
@jeffdunnell6693That is a lot of oil. Why add oil in the pasta water? NEVER ever - you spray, drizzle the exttra virgin AFTER it' s al dente. Bon Appetit!
@jamzzy888Chef Gordons says “Literally” at complete random points in the sentence 😂
@t6-30It would take me 30 minutes just to cut the shallots 🤦
