22 at phd 😣😣😋 22 I will be finishing my bachelor
#research #cuboulder #physics #college #maths #phdstudents #nasa
What about international students? In some countries is extremely hard to get research

I am actually afraid that as a high school student, my knowledge fail to support myself in internships in uni😭
@ZFrank-d8jyou win money with this?
@gatunoidewhy does this video feels like, it speed up around 1.25x?
just curios
How did bro go get into phd at age 22
@achillxs7458Whatever you say handsome
@lovslydiaIgnore my comment this are my notes:
1. Reach professors:
- Search for their research projects and read it, make questions and look for the one that interests you the most.
2. Reach university
- Same with 1, but just other universities other than the one you are in.
3. Look for more theoretical and computational projects (for starters, as you wont need to be in lab for 10 hours.). But of course if you want go, to lab
4. Write email to professor
- Example in 3:30
5. Last but not least, don't give up!!
Worked on a project and have since built a passion for controls and would like to research that area. Sadly, I don't have any research experience as of yet and I'm half way through my fourth year of my undergrad. Would this still apply for getting into a thesis Master's without any prior research experience? Got like a month or two max for application deadlines
@ZyroHDThese are great tips! Some other things to consider: if you are in a STEM field, you can look at NSF Funded REU’s through a directory on the NSF’s website, these have some research experiences specifically made for undergrads who want more experience. The Student Research Opportunities Program (SROP) is also a great way to apply to research opportunities at Big 10 Institutions.
REUs and the SROP both have stipends as well as funds for travel, included room+board, etc, which is very useful if you’re far.
If you apply to these programs, the rest of his tips are very applicable, especially emailing professors and having meetings with them. Honestly, it’s good to get into the habit of doing this with anyone whose work you find interesting (like govt researchers, for example). Even if you get a no or no response, you can make really cool connections, and ppl in specialized fields like to see undergrads who are passionate in their work, at least in my experience. Also, they can point you towards opportunities you wouldn’t even know about or keep you in mind for a job opportunity.
Good luck!
Great 😅
@Pankaj-zu2htAsk advisor about hidden indirect costs before joining a research group!
@MusangKing-b3oBusiness is war
@AldenMoseley-o5rIt would be great if professors agreed to contribute to their research. However, is it possible to write a research paper first and then reach out to professors with a summary, asking for their opinion and to be listed as authors?
@delaramchamaniI tried to get into research at the university of Washington and graduated before I got any. Is it too late for me or can I still apply to universities? I have independent projects such as one where I was able to create a weighted n×m choice, rock paper siccor solver that gets the optimal probabilities. I did it by figuring out what fields of math would help me solve the problem (in this case linear programming solved it) and learned the essentials if linear programming. My favorite classes I enjoyed were theory and I took advanced algorithm classes. I heard the research economy is not great right now but say a few years down the line would I have a chance?
@jsummer1368girl you are in STEM, while im in language and education. but, yeah it's better to try :')
@Rissieta-v3gdoes it apply for community college?
@iker04x85Great guide!
@beaverbuoy3011im just lazy asf
@lucasgaston1165Do you have to be a student to be able to work on research? I graduated 2 years ago and don't know if I should go back for a MS.
@dvillalva21I am trying to work with my Highschool teacher. Any advice on that?
@Starlight-ek5peI love aquascaping, i researchs about it all by myself. Asking people who have more experiences that me, adjusting water parameters, controlling ammonia,... A hobbie that i has learned alot from and i'm grateful about the results.
@minhkhoavo5039Wow, I greatly appreciate you sharing this information. I have had a strong passion for pharmacognostical research from my mid-teens. Almost 30 years old that passion continually fades/changes gradually. I wish I would have known back then.
Thank you, regardless.
Im in canada and still in high school ,do you have advice
@0xC0FFE92KFrom India. I wanted to do research in U.S. as it has great Institutes and environment but I am concerned due to the racism against indians there which has increased to a point where there is a news of an Indian being killed every month. What to do. Are universities open to Indians or same kind of racism is practised with indians as that is shown on internet by Americans towards indians and not only that, if I choose to become a scientist in U.S. then too will I have to face racism?
And if not U.S. then what nation is their with same type and quality of Institutes just like U.S.
buddy i didn't even know you could do research at another institute
@supergaming8856Thank you so much ❤
@Yabass-p4ythank you! and thank you for the reminder to never give up
@valisha.1111and math?
thamks
bro I'm not american
@kingkunta3800engineering physics mentioned, let's goooo
@mahar.molly22This doesn't work for research involving humans. I worked in the visual perception lab at my university for 3 years and was published multiple times but eventually I was told I had to stop helping because I had graduated. Despite being needed due to my knowledge of stimulus creation software. I couldn't afford grad school and the loans ran out so I did my best to teach the grad students at least a little before I left. They don't let just anyone participate in science and learning. You need to start with money or access to it.
@sionainn_eHey,man! Can I get your email
@mahirmuktadirHey a quick question where do I find the mails of the professors
@Minions-w1dI’m so grateful to people like you who are willing to give such valuable advice for free!
I would love to hear you talk about your first research experience, challenges and ‘aha!’ moments of your journey.
Can we get tips for getting OUT of research…..
@grane1850I will ALWAYS get into research. 🙏
@BlackHermitWhat if I never did any research and am a high schooler but wanted to start research what would I need to study etc
@SalwaJabeen-e7tIta easy to get into research but difficult to get out
@sumit060292Now imagine being born in a third world, being graduated with a medium result, having to work for years to support your family and still in one corner harboring the wish to get back into research. Yeah, easy as pie.
@aniksamiurrahman6365but i can't understand their paper they are on quite advanced topics , how can i reach out then should i first learn about those subjects more first and then reach out?
@physicsiseverything1155I know this may sound a bit dumb, but what exactly do you do in the research? (Ik this might differ based on what your focus is but, in your experience, could you give a quick rundown of what you did?) Thank you!
@shivamshsthavara7866Hi, sorry I know this is a old video but I had a quick question. Im currently an incoming freshman at UC Davis studying neuroscience. I wanted to get in touch with some professors in my field, but all their research sounds so crazy complicated! I'm worried I may bite off more than I can chew...even if I do have some neuroscience related education. Do you think I should just jump in, head first? Or wait a bit? tysm.
@littletalkswithmariI see this video is doing well again! If you have any questions or other things you want me to make a video on leave a comment!! :)
@DarioTringaliOne second in my first thought was that he is handsome.
@fadedcyborg728btw I made a website that converts your current resume into Jake's Resume for free. In a click.
@kitn_xColorado boulder is the apex of beauty man
@ViasageThis is such a great guide! Not giving up is so important.
@kahani_blogHeh, getting into is much easier than consistently publishing and making a career out if it. Academia is always in need of unpaid workers to flesh out new ideas 😢
