I hopped on my bike with my camera to follow this insane energy! This was Saturday in Toronto—hundreds of Germany fans marching all the way from Amsterdam Brewery, hitting the Fan Fest Zone, and heading straight to the stadium for the match against Ivory Coast. The chants, the flags, and the vibe were unreal. You have to see it to believe it!
ENGLISH: I am very pleased that cooperation between the police forces of Germany, the USA, and Canada is working so well. In Germany, violent football hooligans—those who smash windows, destroy streetlights, and set cars on fire—are listed in a database and banned from stadiums. The same applies to violent football fans from other countries such as France, England, the Netherlands, or Spain. These violent individuals are subject to travel bans; thanks to data sharing, if they attempt to reach the USA or Canada—even via other continents—they can be arrested immediately. Kudos to the police for ensuring that peaceful fans can enjoy the football.

In Deutschland werden gewalttätige Fußball-Hooligans – also jene, die Fensterscheiben einschlagen, Straßenlampen zerstören und Autos in Brand setzen – in einer Datenbank erfasst und mit Stadionverboten belegt. Dasselbe gilt für gewalttätige Fußballfans aus anderen Ländern wie Frankreich, England, den Niederlanden oder Spanien. Gegen diese Gewalttäter bestehen Reisebeschränkungen; dank des Datenaustauschs können sie sofort festgenommen werden, sollten sie versuchen, in die USA oder nach Kanada zu gelangen – selbst über den Umweg über andere Kontinente. Ein großes Lob an die Polizei, die dafür sorgt, dass friedliche Fans den Fußball genießen können.

@GermanGreetingsA stretch along Toronto's waterfront was painted black, red and yellow, as hundreds of Germany fans marched from Amsterdam Brewery near Harbourfront Centre, westward along Queens Quay West and then Lakeshore Boulevard, to Exhibition Place. This custom of marching most likely originated back home in Germany, part of that country's heritage.
