Georgia: Ancient, Remote, and Unreal | 4K Travel Documentary

There appear to be a gang of potentially violent criminals conducting a scam or fraud in tourists. A group of young men run to approach arriving tourist busses. They aggressively try to take photos of tourists without their permission or without explaining the purpose. The scam appears to involve transferring your photo onto a souvenir. The scammers will try to block your path to take your photo. If you demand they do not take your photo they can get very intimidating and put their camera right in your face less than an elbow length away. In my case when I pushed the camera away to continue to the Cathedral area entrance the photographer and three other gang members attacked me, knocked me to the ground against some rocks. Lucky for me my fall was cushioned by a wheelie bin and my backpack. Otherwise I could have been concussed or worse. Other members of our tour group got between me and these gang members so I could make my escape.

I am not sure exactly the purpose of this aggressive evasion of privacy in taking unauthorised photos. However it is likely to be more cunning than simply overpriced souvenirs. These men are so aggressive and so determined to get peoples photos that I suspect some fraudulent activity matching people’s photo with personal information to commit a fraud.

My suggestions on how to protect yourself.

1. Consider seriously if you want to go on any tout to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and be intimidated by these aggressive men.

2. If you do go, cover your face as you leave the vehicle so they cannot take your photo.

3. Do not under any circumstances buy their photo souvenirs or give them any personal information, as you are almost certain to be the victim of a scam.

Great country. Fantastic landscapes, nature, history, Tbilisi, wine, friendly people.
Infrastructure is quite poor.
Considering its high potential, Georgia will change in the next decades: better to go there by now!

Did you drive on that road? That is the question. I would except for reservations about something happening to the car, and possibly being far from the nearest village. Having a tyre blowout abroad is not something I'd wish to experience again anytime soon.

Знак має бути  пропорційним, поєднаним, красивим. Коли знак кривий, стосунки з тією людиною потребують змін - довіра розірвана, повага лежить, розуміння розсунуте, піклування немає. Перед Богом, що ви достойні на існування щасливе, може підтвердити та кохана людина, з якою ви збудували рівне і гарне серце. (теж усі ті близькі люди, що теж будуть з Богом та перед Богом свої близькі стосунки)

There is a factual inaccuracy within the first three minutes of the video... 2:55 'The Georgian alphabet is one of only 14 unique scripts in the world'. Not true at all. There are hundreds of scripts in the world that are still in use today. I wonder how many other inaccuracies the video contains...
