Gambling & Sports Betting with the Mafia - A Gamble with Your Life | Michael Franzese

Video Overview & Insights

👉👉Check out the store: https://store.michaelfranzese.com/ In this video, Michael Franzese, shares how athletes were set up at that time in the gambling business that many organized crime people were involved in. Many athletes are not good at gambling. They would gamble, get in over their heads, they would lose money and in many cases much more than that...

I thought true mobsters didn’t talk.

I hate gamblers more than drug addicts. They call you lucky and themselves unlucky. Good fortune is not luck. If I practice study for an exam and the stuff that I study is on the exam that's not luck because I worked. That's good fortune. Or if you fish everyday, you're working. You can have misfortune and good fortune day to day but it's not luck because you're working. A gambler and drug addict are doing stupid lazy sh___. I have an engineering degree and know engineering statistics. When a play is flying and not crashing that's not luck. You don't study probability and statistics in engineering to get lucky gambling. You're not supposed to gamble if you're catholic dummy. the excuse you make is that everyone gambles because you don't know the difference between good fortune and luck. If you overdose on drugs it's luck but you play stupid games you get stupid prizes. It's the dumb people who gamble who are most likely to do something stupid like overdose on drugs.

Mr. Franzese, what do you make of the story about Shohei Ohtani's interpreter and David Fletcher, Ohtani's teammate on the Angels, placing bets with an illegal bookmaker? Can you do a video on gambling today?

Do you believe the story about Ohtani's interpreter placing bets with the bookmaker, or was he placing bets for Ohtani?

I don't care how rich you are, if you don't know several million dollars are missing from your bank account you are either an idiot or complicit.

MLB is tough this year on betting smh.

I'd be interested to know if Mr. Franzese believes that the recent explosion in NIL money for college athletes will hinder the bookmaker's impact as he described here. College kids can now get legal money from companies for their name, image and likeness but typically only the top players get that however those are the ones who would have the biggest impact on the games themselves.

Hearing Michael say "You're done when I tell you you're done" in that tone made me feel like I was in trouble lol

holy shit this is insane to hear and also awesome lmao. scary world out there bro keep ya noses clean.

@chasepadgett4221

So..why do people gamble with the mafia? What is the reward versus the massive risk? If you satiate your need to gamble with a legal casino, at least you'll avoid the possibility of bodily harm.

I never understood this. Why on Earth would you play cards or make a bet with people who make a living from hurting, stealing and killing?

Damn. I can see this happening to me. Young kid with no father figure. Sees a well connected guy relating to me and offering me money. Me thinking, “no big deal, I just have to keep the score within ten. I like this guy”.

Then only to see his true colors when I tell him I’m not interested anymore.

Things like this are why I avoid contracts, commitments, and oaths. I just don’t trust people to I not do wrong

Michael, would love to hear your take on the movie "The Gambler," starring the late James Caan and Lauren Hutton, Paul Sorvino, Burt Young, and a very young James Woods. Your review would make for a great "Mob Movie Monday" segment.

Over a YouTube video at 68 years old Michael is intimidating. I couldn't imagine him if he was doing this at 30 years old. Imagine being the young kid who just realised he's in over his head. He'd be absolutely terrified.

You can see the college basketball kid thinking to himself— “here’s an easy $10k in my pocket ! I don’t have to lose the game. I just need to shave off a few points. Who’s gonna know and hey, I’m rich!” And the hook is in.

Who’s to say if I’m a young broke college kid I couldn’t get involved

Michael Franzese can be such an intimidating influence. I stopped cheating and let my wife win the next 10 games of gin rummy.

Betting with a local bookie is better then any legal operation period just pay when you lose very simple

@gusthanasulas5550

I'm sure most people already know sports can be compromised, but many still bet hoping they will still win regardless. I never bet to get rich, just to have something to root for. Their are positives to gambling if you know what you're in for. Good luck everyone, and take the under! Lol 😆
