Season 4 had way too much plot armor especially episode 10
Another season of FROM has come and gone, filled with questions, questions, more questions, and also surprisingly, a few answers. But a little bit ago I made a video on the first three seasons, the good, the bad, and the ugly of it all, and how I think season 4 and 5 will ultimately go, and honestly this season went about as I expected it to go, the same pacing, the same uglier aspects, but this also had another job to do being the penultimate season. The penultimate season of every major genre show like FROM builds our characters up with a big win, just to leave them off in a worse position than theyāve maybe ever been. Season 4 does this, but in a bit of a weird way.
0:00 - 2:14 - "Nothing Happens & There's No Answers"
I love hatewatching this show because it is easily the most pretentious and dumbest show on TV, and I've been saying that since mid season 1. Character motivations changed at the drop of a dime, things happen or don't happen for literally no reason and hiding it all under the banner of a slow burn mystery drama when its literally the sloppiest shittiest version of this type of show, cinema, absolute cinema, its pink flamingos in a tv show.
2:15 - 6:50 - My S4 Predictions
6:51 - 9:09 - Fatima & The Golem
I'm not convinced of the scare crow plot line like at all it seemed to random compared to the rest of the show I hated that episode
9:10 - 13:09 - The Man In Yellow
13:10 - 17:52 - Julie & Storywalking
Julie is so annoying and I hated how when she couldn't figure out her story walking she just gave up and acting like trying to find a way out I'ma pointless then her mom was coming to terms that she has been reincarnated and has a real connection with this place and I hated how she kept invalidatikg her mom till in all this. Like Julie could have been more helpful if she went to someone other then eljin and randall. Like to to your parents damn even Victor or her brother.
17:53 - 22:04 - The Best Episode of the Series?
22:05 - 26:11 - Victor, Henry, & Ethan
I keep feeling like we are going through the tragedy that was Lost again.
26:12 - 28:12 - Boyd & Jade
28:13 - 30:31 - The Finale
I need the final season to get a higher budget. At least give Julie a good wig.
30:32 - 36:36 - The Answers & Remaining Questions

After finishing season 1 the first thing I thought was what if one of the enemies infiltrated the camp and kept secretly removing stones or doing evil things from within to throw it off balance. And lo and behold the authors did this predictable trope, but it took them whole two pointless waste of time seasond to get there. I could have simply skipped season 2 and 3 and I wouldn't have missed anything story wise because there's no story to begin with. Just a very badly written episode of X-Files stretched and padded into 4-5 seasons with horrible dialogue.
One of my biggest gripes with the western TV shows is that work on seasons which feel like each season takes place in its own season vacuum with its own story, not contributing anything to the whole plot. Like a villain of the week formula, but more like season of the week formula. Things come exclusively for one season a s are gone by the end of it. It doesn't feel like you're watching a continuation of one big story. Because western TV shows are often written to be renewed or not renewed for the next season so they have to bet on this new season each time trying to come up with new random big thing, ignoring the current ongoing plot. It's especially bad in series like Lost or Walking Dead where they throw a bunch of new characters and new storylines in the new season just to make it appear fresh for the bored viewer while not adding anything to the overall story. Just more and more padding each season. And deep down you already know that the authors have no idea how to end this story but you're still in denial so you keep watching hoping for a coherent and satisfying conclusion which won't happen. It's why most western TV shows have such horrible finale. They start a story without the slightest idea how to end it and just bet on coming up with new stuff alomg the way. This is kindergarten level approach to story writing and it never ends. A story that's just like a chewing gum, tasty at the beginning but becomes stale and tastes like rubber the more you chew it. I'm pretty sure that the creators of From have no idea what they're doing and that actors just play along with a nervous laugh each time they read the script for a new episode as long as they're getting paid. I won't be surprised if couple years from now we'll gonna be on Season 8 with zero plot progression from where we're now in season 4.
Characters not talking with each other and not cooperating is a very cheap and easy way to increase padding and time wasting because it keeps all the characters doing things separately ie creating more padding scenes with more things for them to do and talk about. They've created to many characters and don't know what to do with them. And all the random weird plot points with loose ends that go nowhere will be justified with a simple "this place just does this to you and plays tricks on you". Oh, how convenient.
That scene from the Clockwork Orange movie where the protagonist is seated down forced to watch videos without being able to close his eyes - he is probably forced to re-watch From tv series over and over and all the scenes of characters arguing with each other pointlessly because nothing leads to anywhere. That would be hell.

How to make a survival horror series...
1) Make sure no one communicates. Keeping secrets is more vital than survival. If a character does chance upon information that can advance the plot? Then keeping it a secret means a couple more episodes can be squeezed out.
2) No one is allowed to work out the most simple puzzles.
3) Other puzzles should be so vague, that any explanation can be used down the line... assuming you plan on ever explaining.
4) Make sure random weird stuff keeps delaying the plot. Even the discovery of a used condom wil suffice as long as is distracts from key issues.
5) Make sure the audience see's vital information last.
Follow these rules... and you can drag out any show for 7 seasons.

DISCLAIMER:
This show constantly introduces new ideas and story lines, then just has the characters give up and move on with nothing being solved.
There was NO AI used in the creation of this video.
- All Music is from Artlist.io
It's also funny that the only reason Julie and Randall had to go to the Hospital. Was so that Sophia could hear what they were talking about haha
- The recording is my actual voice, not an AI.
- I wrote the script of each and every video on this channel
Fatima must be a different monster since she can run, walk in the sun and she didn't sacrifice her child.
- I made the thumbnail and applied a filter over the characters to give them a unique look.
- Editing was done by myself on Premiere Pro
It's crazy how you came up with a better alternative for what this season should've been and how ultimately so many plot points lead to nothing. It really feels like the writers have no clue most of the time and are just kind of winging it to see what sticks instead of just trying to make a semi-decent script.
If you don't believe me, feel free to check out my older videos from before AI even existed and see for yourself.
The writers are baiting the audience, I think season 5 and all the explanations will be superficial and disappointing. This show basically has no reasonable or satisfying pay-offs (or lack thereof).
Elgin wasnāt dumb character doing dumb stuff - itās bad writers doing naive and absurd work because it fits their plot. Horrible.

I stopped watching after the giant dolls episode. How was the rest of the season lol?
@dannyp-ufc8883If the man in yellow could turn into people who have died, It would have been more interesting if he'd turned into Jim.
@GhĆøst_RCGGreat mystery show like Dark, don't expand the world settings endlessly across seasons, they are basically set at the beginning to draw audiences in. After that, the show keeps people watching not by constantly throwing out more questions, but by slowly answering the ones that already matter. And as audiences know more and more about what the characters they care are dealing with, they want to be there with them till the end.
@tphalange9030If you want to taken by a demon it is Sophia ā¤ā¤š š š š š
@tjking1909This is jj Abram slop. Ur all about to be very disappointed
@Ev3ryBodyGets1-o4oTired of hearing about "slow burn." Watch any other slow burn show: Breaking Bad, BCS, etc. The pacing is a million times faster than in From.
The From writers are just lazy and take for granted that they were generously granted 10-episode seasons on five separate occasions. Like bro, you are on TV. Tell me a story. That's why I tune in. "But it's not the season finale yet!" Meanwhile more plot happens in a random Breaking Bad episode than in 3 seasons of From.
Man I loved S1&2 but 3 was already getting worse and I was just very bored with this season⦠Not really a lot happened and the only characters I enjoy are Boyd, Jade and the Doc⦠The rest I just donāt care anymore and most of the writing and acting is just bad imo⦠I have no interest in watching S5, for sure if it will be in what 2028ā¦.
@MajinBuu91Show is draaaaaaggggging.
@Josh_ExitCamperWas just thinking. I guess I perceived those as needles šŖ” and that made me think - the thing that created It, destroys it. Everything has to be done ritualistically. The monsters werenāt created by āneedleworkā like prior avatar of Tabithaās dolls would have been created with. I wonder if they can stab/wound/kill the monsters with the bones of the children. Iām just going with all sorts of ideas at this stage. There were several head scratching moments for me this season. As each season. Iāll be back for 5 like Iām present for the graduation of my child.
@madameshericeEvery season, they create a new mystery and completely forget about it in the following one. The voices commanding Sarah, the worms under Boyd's skin, Julie's story walking ability, Elgins's dreams, the flashbacks Julie, Marielle and Randall are experiencing, Fatima's golem, Tabitha escaping the village. So far, nothing of it played out in a satisfying way and I get the impression it won't at all at the end.
@grimquest5054A bad season of From is a good season of TV.
@jackkelly3502I literally cheered when Elgin died. Such an unbelievably stupid characterā¦
@johncress1859Fair rating. I'm hoping they're more aggressively spinning their wheels to set up an amazing final
@ttheaneyTheres no like button. Why?
@crisin6045The man in yellow is a poorly written villain, I was extremely disappointed by the nothingness he gave us all season and his powers have no rules or limitations so we had Sophia basically doing anything and we just had to go with it because sure her blood would cause vivid hallucinations and sure she can pass sOmEtHinG through her blood to someone elseās blood and that personās blood can be used for whatever. This applies to the rules of the town as well, the stranger things lightning coming from the tunnels is absolutely fine and the dead doll guy coming back to life is splendid, obviously. Cause why wouldnāt it be? Itās not like there are any rules in this world or anything š
@mazvitaselemaniOmg I just realized something about From. In season one the female monster said some of us didnāt chose to be like this then we see her fixing her makeup all sad before they went to attack people in colony house. Then in season four Fatima was turned into a monster against her own will? What?! We already know Fromville is a loop so what if in every cycle thereās always a āFatimaā who always gets turned into a monster against her own will
@PearlMwangi-k5d30 questions, 5 answers. not enough.
@JeddlesI'm really glad it DIDN'T go the way of that propose storyline. That civil war "let's fight over who Sophia really is the whole season" is some trite Walking Dead crap. I didn't like this season, but I prefer what happened to that.
@demonsneedluv2My issue is they never seem to give the protagonists small victories that will end making an eventual large scale victory seemed realistic and earned.
Instead it will mostly feel like random azz pull bs, like Boyd randomly finding talismans.
The development that they did for every character has led to absolutely nothing. They are not providing any answers and its far past suspense at this point.
And is jus frustrating.
It's questions all the way down
@svevoI still find it crazy that no one seems to check on the new girl whatsoever with everything new thatās happening in the town, sheās just roaming around freely doing her deeds n no one is checking to see whatās up whether they mean good or bad
@AstrogoesgamingThe people in this show have zero deductive reasoning and it is extremely frustrating to see MIY/Sophia tromp around town being hella sus and no one pays her any mind. š
@JohnGaltStandUp420I hate to say it but Iām losing confidence that the show will have a satisfying final season. Thereās been too many cheap red herrings and plot lines that go nowhere. And some shyt theyāve been dragging out for too frustratingly long. Iād expect good writers/producers to know it would irritate the audience to have Fatima building the golem for an entire season. Let alone that anyone could build that thing in a few hours and it didnāt even amount to anything by the end of the season.
@paularized1There are so many plotlines the writers set up that either get ignored or dropped completely. Julie tried to figure out storywalking, then got worried and scared and gave it up. Even though we know she figures out enough at some point to witness Jim's death. She tells Tabitha about it one scene, and that's it. Boyd sometimes has symptoms of Parkinson's and really strong hallucinations, and sometimes he's just fine. Fatima spent most of the season creating a golem that just sits in the attic. Henry convinces himself he needs to kill Victor, then that's resolved in a single scene without him ever having to explain his actions. Kenny remains the same character he's been since S1, even though both his parents were butchered horrifically by the monsters. People continue to treat Victor like he's a mentally ill weirdo even though he knows more than everyone about the town and its history. Donna suffers a heart attack, nearly dies and has nothing to share about her near death experience. She goes back to being the same character as before, just with a cane. Randall is just an NPC. Dani goes from being dangerously unhinged to slightly helpful to being buried in the background. Sara almost poisons the town, decides not to and barely talks about what she's experiencing. Ellis remains completely useless.
NOBODY EVER TRIES TO CAPTURE A MONSTER TO SEE WHAT THEY CAN LEARN FROM IT. They realize in the finale of the 4th season, nearly 40 episode in, that the monsters can't go into sunlight. Finding that out could potentially save them. Maybe the monsters are like vampires. They definitely behave like vampires. Does this mean that sunlight will kill them? Why not create some tiger traps around the town and bait a monster into falling into one? Then observe what happens when the sun comes up and shines down on the exposed monster. They have plenty of time to plan and execute a strategy.
It's just frustrating because the characters are written to be so helpless, stupid and unconcerned with ensuring their own survival that it's become increasingly hard to root for them. As painfully stupid as the characters on TWD were, we at least witnessed them building traps, fortifying their bases and utilizing strategies to help themselves survive another day. Everyone in From just act like if they go inside before dark, they'll be fine to resume their normal daily activities the next day. It's a severe break in realism that makes me question if the characters even want to survive and whether they deserve to.
This whole season was a real letdown and makes me doubt that the writers can actually pull off a satisfying ending to the story.
The whole Sophia/MIY plotline was missed opportunity and huge disappointment. I can't believe the writers didn't ever have characters become suspicious about Sophia until Elgin stupidly shows her the photo he found immediately after discovering it. They found the MIY's clothes, then those clothes disappear, then Tabitha meets the MIY and has evidence that he was in her house and NOBODY even thinks to investigate ANY of it. They don't even question how MIY got the drawings. The bag of teeth is included as a little "isn't this kinda creepy" level gag.
Sophia keeps telling people she's going to make the town tear itself apart, but that never pays off other than by feeding a few people her blood, resurrecting Roger and stealing all the talisman at the end of the finale. There were long stretches of the season where so little happened that it made no sense why Sophia wasn't driving up people's paranoia. She didn't even attempt to make people question if someone's actions caused something bad to happen. It didn't make sense why not a single character became suspicious of her, caught her doing something strange or had to convince everyone else that she shouldn't be trusted. Imagine a scene where Victor or Sarah are trying in vain to convince everyone that they need to banish Sophia and her playing on their emotions by pretending to be a scared helpless young woman pleading for her life. Or Jade seeing her during his trip with all black eyes and trying to convince Boyd and Donna that they need to do something about her. Instead, she just reveals herself to Clara, who just willingly goes along with her play to betray the entire town. It was another missed opportunity and failure to seize on an interesting plotline. We were served about 3 episodes worth of plot development over the course of a full season. Yet everything was right there in the story to give us more.
The table scene with Tabitha, Ethan, and Julie should have been done better, a bonding moment. Tabitha should convinced Julie to keep story walking but instead of Randall going, she would go in his place. Could have been another scene that led to more flashbacks also even possibly Ethan having a other revelation moment. The ball was dropped of the potential of this season.
@greenytaddictAnd we should have got a damn flashback episode or scene of when either before the ritual occured leading to the ritual and or what happened right after. Origin stories for either the BIW or MIY.
@greenytaddicti think jade an tabitha wont make it out and they have to stay with the children forever to set everyone else free because everything comes at a cost in the town it seems
@melonman-mr4nvOk random thought if the MIY can shape shift who's to say that the BIW can't and if he can is it possible that he was Jim trying to push Ethan in the right direction lol
@essgee621only thing i disagree on is Sophia's performance. It comes across as pretty cartoonishly evil imo. any normal person would know she was acting weird...
@LaconahThe utter lack of any satisfying subplots is driving me crazy. We could have had cuts to Julie testing storywalking, Sarah picking up little oddities about Sophia, Victor training Ethan to survive or maybe the entire time Fatima spent building that mud snowman could've been used to show signs or her turning so it wasn't such a jump from human to monster in the last 15 minutes of the season.
Can some hairdresser maybe send the production a decent wig for Julie maybe!? HOW DID THAT GET APPROVED!?
Eloise is not the Story Walker. Victor said he found parts of her. Victor is his timeline's story walker, but only sort of. The drawings Victor makes are his own version of bookmarks.
This will mean that Ethan dies and Julie ends up being alone in the town after everyone else dies too.
I think Julie will out Sophia- in the photo Elgin found with Sofia in it it looks like Julie is in the background.
@Spooky-72Dude you have to watch Yellowjackets. Thereās a ton of content possibility for it since the final season is yet to release. I seriously recommend it
@usenamer3635I think the issue with your version is that story happened in like 30 other stories. I think the issue with shows like this is people are disappointed when the story doesn't end up the way they guessed it would. Imp the other ending you came up with was basically the walking dead. Why would we want to watch that show again. I do agree the scheming was annoying. But imo i think its part of his power and they are all stressed as heck rn. š
@handsanitizer2457Big tv writers vs decent season finales
