Do you hear yourself? Military ship enters territorial waters of foreign country to support the freedom of navigation 🧐 It's like robbers enter privat territory to support the freedom of movement 😎
🔴Special Thanks to all my Patreons!🔴

What's rather scary is that this exact scenario can happen IRL tomorrow.

Seeing a ticco without vls is strange lol

Give em hell.
@danielefabbro822I'd like to think it would have been suicidal for a small, isolated group of 2 USN vessels to get this close to the Soviet coast. If the Soviets really wanted to sink them when they're basically right in their backyard, those cruisers / destroyers would have been gone.
@antred11I was on the Caron during this time. We entered the Black Sea and we maneuvered under the “right of innocent passage”. Was a unique experience. Edit: didn’t realize this was a game. lol. Wow. Haha.
@Liz_ZervosWhen you put Yorktown on weapons free how come it didn’t engage the krivak with harpoons. I’m having a problem with this when I play when I want ships to go weapons free against an air threat they will shoot their asm as well
@zacharyclayton2451Boy, I can’t really see the mission designers for this game have not changed the formula much. Start game, missiles fly everywhere, and game. Not much strategy involved. Kind of boring actually.
@jameslanz2117Name of scenario, please and thank you!
@technocardyI came for Silent Hunter and I'm staying for Sea Power.
I think you're a capable commander, Herr Kaleun.
I download and just get ticonderoga were is ddgx arleightburke and all new ship 😢😢
@supiyahsp3779In conclusion, don't mess with the boats!
@resurgam_b7There's something reassuring about having a Ticonderoga under your command - very much sends the message of "do your worse, I'll wait."
Unfortunately however, with this specific Tico that sense of security instantly goes away when you spot a swarm of supersonic ASMs crest the radar horizon and/or you end up using a lot more SM-2s than you want - that last point is something I notice quite a bit, even with the VLS ships that have better missiles & electronics.
You should consider putting a Slava class cruiser into the scenario, you were right outside the home base where the original Slava cruiser was stationed and all the other red ships in this scenario literally did not stand a chance since they had very poor antiship capability. Kashin and Grisha have zero antiship capability and Krivak I has very poor anti ship capability.
Would definitely make scenario more spicy.
"proportional response" you don't happen to watch the Fat Electrician, do you?
@UnknownUsername131Imagine if Russia was to send a group of warships off the coast of Pensacola Florida in the Gulf of Mexico.....Like a Slava, Udaloy and a Kresta! The yanks would loose their collective poop!
@TrimtankI wish Putin was on one of the shot down migs.
@alangarnham706Question
Should I buy This or cold waters
Can't stop smiling every time I hear "Karen"...
@theoriginalstoneyI’ve watched enough of these videos to know when he says “we could fire through here, it’s risky but” that 100% going to fire.
@davidgirkin7733This is set the day after I was born. Quite a bit of action to come into the world with.
@lawrence142002Hit like and subscribe to support the Wolfpack !!
@jefferynelsonKeen to see how the new carrier mechanics change up gameplay
@executer40The right of innocent passage is really being pushed to its limits here lol.
@GoldenRivet"Proportional"
@krsanth-4142I think the soviets had much more anti ship missiles in crimea, than both ships can stand😢
@MichaelEngelhardt-w9dI'm no expert, but I do think from an international law perspective, this wouldn't be considered innocent passage. Section 2c of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Innocent_passage states any act aimed at collecting information to the prejudice of the defence or security of the coastal State does NOT count as innocent passage. At 1:56, we can see the Caron has her air and surface search radar turned on which I think you can argue is an example of trying to collect information as 2c describes. Great video as always, Wolfpack, I just thought it was fun to think about how this mission might be considered under international law :).
@codingplaylist8502I do have a soft spot for Spruance class destroyers.
@MichalProzacRandom fact. It appears your radar emission source is the radar on top of the Ay-Petri mountain, that Ukraine blew up about a year ago 😊
@MagicFoe88Was eating dinner on my ship on duty and wasn’t paying attention but the way my head snapped around when you said “Channel 16”. I was honestly waiting for you to mention Bridge to Bridge but alas 😂
@loganlivingston5347Things about to get "proportional".
USS Yorktown: Ice 'em!
Send your hillo up and activate their radar for more visibility
@alebiosuabdulkabir6591lol "proportional response"...entire enemy response is destroyed, except for one ship running for its life
@theJeet8I guess their performance is very different but I found it odd that all those Soviet ASM where all intercepted but a 4 US ASM all hit their targets with no successful interception.
@Punisher9419Cant wait for part 2 where CO of the USS Karen calls Gorbachev in for Captains Mast.
@chinua2584Would love to see you try the ANZAC Spirit workshop mission
@3dwrecker_4660The caption I saw and almost always see in Sea Power and in DCS, and in myriad documentaries, show towed array as toad array. SEAD shows as seed, and crewed (in NASA-oriented vids) missions as crude missions. Great for comic relief, but not inspiring if it's the current state of tech being ignored.
So much for AI and high tech companies claiming AI needs to be everywhere.
But, the USS Caron name/spelling should be something the AI and captions engines should be able to find in historical records.
At least she seems to have the classified capability of emitting/radiating toad ribbit-ribbit-ribbit decoys to entertain or confuse the then-Soviets.
"ON THE 1-MC: Attention all hands: There are toads working over the side. Do not rotate, radiate, or energize any electronic equipment while there are toads working over the side of rhe USS CARON. Do not discharge to or take suction from or throw articles over the side to the sea while there are toads working over the side."
Wish I could play these games.
@jsweezy690you should try the falklands war
@fox_22boy31Your computer is awesome. Usually when i see people play this it studders.
@Chris_289erif I'm wrong please correct me, but doesn't the use of a towed sonar or active sonar violate the rules of a freedom of navigation patrol? I know its just a game and doesn't matter but genuinely curious.
@robbiegeorge5385I wonder why they did not try to defend themselves and shoot at them in real life
@ac9356I'm so glad i didnt join the navy. This is boring warfare.
@erikjanthesYIPPPIIEE MOREEEE!!!!!
@sidious69Hey @wolfpack345, sweet scenario! I wanted to point you towards a mission I came across in the workshop that I think you'll really like. Check out Terror in Tokyo! It's a good length for a video and is plenty challenging. Take care!
@grump1662I highly recommend you take a look at battleship command, looks right up your street.
@barryevans6493So interesting tidbit since we are talking about the Yorktown. I was stationed in Norfolk on a destroyer tender (repair ship). I remember Yorktown had a nasty stack fire while out in the local area. She docked not too far from us and I wandered over to take a look. I don't recall if it was the port or starboard stack, but the superstructure around the stack had some pretty serious deformation due to the heat of the fire. (That is the issue with ships from that era and even a lot of modern ships in t hat their superstructure is not made of steel, but rather light alloy to save on top weight and improve stability). Fortunately I believe no one was hurt, but that had to be pretty scary for a new crew while the ship was working up.
It would have been interesting to see what a later version with the VLS system could have done.
Great video and well done Wolfpack.
Sea Power is definetly a game on my radar. Few can capture a missile age fight like this.
@geemanamatin8383They aren't merchant ships, they're drug boats poisoning our children.
