My Dad had type 2 Diabetes and it was a yo-yo painful pricky inconvenience and my best friend had type 1 (and died young due to organ failure). Diabetes isn't easy and the treatment hasn't evolved much since Dr. Frederick Banting created insulin, I believe he'd have had Diabetes eradicated by now.
