What has Benavides done to get a chance against the Undisputed HW champion?
He is a natural CW clocking at 196-200 pounds who fought his entire career in lower weight classes 175 where he dehydrated to make weight and rehydrated on fight night back to Cruserweight weight to have an unfair advantage. He fought one fight against bum Zurdo who was ducking Jai and that makes him eligible to fight Usyk!?
Usyk is a natural Cruserweight he fought at 196 in Cruserweight and he dominated everyone becoming undisputed in this weight class even beating Bellew just because he vacated his belt. Even as the CW undisputed champion first in the. 4 belt era who did it fastest in history he had to go through two HW’s to get a title fight. Usyk beat every HW champion twice. He was forced to fight them twice as the establishment believed that it must be a fluke.
Benavides is hype and no substance. Usyk is the real deal did it the hard way against all odds.
The only reason they want Benavides vs Usyk is because Benavides is a large 29 year old CW while Usyk is similarly sized 39 year old Heavyweight. Benavides is in his prime while Usyk is at the end of his career.
That said they thought 27 year old Dubois would beat a 38 year old Usyk. Usyk dsimantled, dominated and KO’d DDD.
Without the power advantage the Mexican style that Canelo and Benavides rely on, does not work. That is just how it is.
The only hope Benavides has is that Usyk will age overnight. The Age difference is what they are betting on. When Usyk will turn 41 they will all “demand” a fight with him while avoiding any other fights. Benavides should become undisputed in Cruserweight if he wants a shot at the HW king and he has to do it in 1 year which I do not see happening. Beating Zurdo proves nothing. That bum avoided Jai. Lastly Benavides should stay in CW because going down to fight Canelo who is a natural 180 pound guy is crazy. Beterbiev and Bivol would be a better choice. He would still have the upper hand size wise but the opposition would be much tougher than Zurdo or Canelo.

Bivol is much more realistic. One step at a time.
