Ferrari's First EV: The LUCE | Exclusive First Look Review 2026

Video Overview & Insights

Vicki Butler-Henderson was at the world unveiling of the Ferrari LUCE in Rome, making DriverReviews one of the first automotive channels in the world to bring you an exclusive first look at Ferrari's first fully electric production car.

Ferrari goes fully electric - and it looks like nothing they've ever made before. What do you think of the design? ๐Ÿ‘‡

โ€” @DriverReviews

The Ferrari Luce produces 1,050hp from four electric motors, one per wheel, covers 0-62mph in 2.5 seconds and 0-124mph in 6.8 seconds, hits a top speed of 193mph, and offers a claimed range of up to 330 miles from a 122kWh battery. It weighs 2,260kg, seats five for the first time in Ferrari's history, and is priced from around ยฃ500,000 before options.

Designed in collaboration with Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson's creative collective LoveFrom, the Luce is the second four-door Ferrari ever built and the first to seat five passengers. The chassis and body are made from 75% recycled aluminium.

0/10 is being generous.

โ€” @grantmail4112

According to Ferrari, it sits on the largest staggered wheel diameters ever fitted to a production Ferrari: 23 inches at the front and 24 inches at the rear. The car Vicki saw in Rome was fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 5 Energy Acoustic tyres carrying the K1 homologation marking, denoting Ferrari-approved fitment. According to Ferrari's press release, the full approved tyre range has been developed with Michelin, Pirelli and Bridgestone and includes two dry-weather options, two winter tyres and one runflat.

The sound system rejects artificial synthesis entirely. According to Ferrari, a precision accelerometer on the rear axle captures the mechanical vibrations of the rotating components and amplifies them in a process Ferrari compares to an electric guitar pickup, producing a sound that is authentic, functional, and audible both inside and outside the car.

HIDEOUS.

โ€” @grantmail4112

Inside, Vicki finds the interior the most considered and tactile Ferrari has ever produced. The glass key uses a world-first E Ink display. The ignition sequence, the launch control handle, the steering wheel paddles and the boot button icon are all details Vicki singles out from her time with the car in Rome. Vicki says the daring exterior design may take time to get used to, but it takes just a second to fall for the charm and playfulness of the interior.

A full driving review will follow as soon as Vicki gets behind the wheel.

the end of Ferrari has arrived.

unsubscibing due to this joke of a video.

Used to really respect Vicky but regrettably she sold her soul to ferrari for this video. Its also made me think how subjective all her other reviews were? hopefully just with this video as I normally agree with her opinions but still have to unsubscribe and only trust journalists who has the guts to call it how it is

Even in my car I can leave my key in my pocket. How is having to put it into that stupid key holder a benefit?

โ€” @badbob2383

You can rest assured that you'll receive genuine, relevant and tailored reviews for tyres suitable for your vehicle.

It looks practical, ocd friendly/ clean disign, electrotechnately masterful, fits great with your Ifone, lots of options, ridiculously expensive, and it is not noisy.
Ferrari loving petrolheads will hate it naturally.๐Ÿ˜‚
Mind you Asian brands will copy it ASAP.

What a shameless sellout journo VB has become, trying to invent positives for that ยฃ500k laughable 2.25 ton monstrosity. It stinks of desperation to please Ferrari in a pathetic hope of securing future favour and reviews. It almost feels like a social experiment to test which reviewers they can โ€˜trustโ€™ to give them a glowing review no matter what over priced, laughable and soul-less dross they serve up to virtue signalling tech billionaires on the US pacific coast. Its a hipster car for those who consider themselves too cool to conform to populist car aspirations.
